Ryan White Appreciation Thread

This kid is the perfect 3rd/4th liner. He gives it his all every shift, and can kill penalties effectively. He's also not afraid to throw his body around.

Hopefully this kid is up for the year. :handclap:

Great player for his role. How is he a rookie? Plays smart, always finishes his checks and is always the first player back.

The only thing that was supposed to hold him back from being an NHLer was his speed and I see nothing wrong with it. Either he worked hard at it or it was very overblown.

I should've started that thread. :D

Great job. Something is sure though. Amongst things I said about him...yeah I know don't remind me...I did say that if he makes it, I'll never see him making it as his position in Juniors which was centerman. This guy even at his best should stay on the wings.

LeMAD 11-24-2009 09:21 PM

Great hard working guy, but not NHL material.

This kid is a keeper, him and Pyatt (Thanks Rangers for throwing him into the Gomez trade) ..

Habs13 11-24-2009 09:24 PM

Appreciated. Kind of guy that puts his body in the way of pucks for his team. Heart and soul... yeah, glad to have him in Montreal. Now, I've heard that he can score too?? ;)

Great young defensive player... He's an NHLer-to-be... He has the talent required.

Em Ancien 11-24-2009 09:28 PM

All hustle, no quit. Some offensive talent, but a good physical, defensive player.

You need those on your teams and we got a keeper. :yo:

Harry Wong 11-24-2009 09:29 PM

His history is that he chips in timely offensive production to go along with his gritty and energetic defensive play. First assist tonight, no?

Myron Gaines* 11-24-2009 09:29 PM

I like this guy, playing with a lot of sandpaper...He reminds me of a young.....Travis Moen lolll

2nd.

Crimson Skorpion 11-24-2009 09:30 PM

Both White and Pyatt have been good.

Both are rather quick, gritty and good on the forecheck.

JeromeHP 11-24-2009 09:31 PM

mathias brunet on his blog compared him to mike keane couples week ago. i like it

big hit on kronwall last saturday night

Marc the Habs Fan 11-24-2009 10:05 PM

Michel Villeneuve continues to show he knows very little on La Zone tonight, saying White isn't doing anything.

was about to post this and this is little bit surprising since i think White is the kind of players Villeneuve usually like :shakehead at least he like Pyatt

Watsatheo 11-24-2009 10:32 PM

I thought White and Pyatt were actually pretty bad in the first half of the game (along with most of the team). But I'm glad they turned it around. I hate to say this, but Chipchura's days are numbered.

Sad for Chipchura but he's beat by every guy he's competing with to get a spot on the lineup. First by Lapierre two years ago and now by White and Pyatt.

Man, these appreciation threads are getting lame...Id love to see the amount of them sprouting out when we lose...

I beg to differ. On what do you base your opinion?

PK....he does good.
Checking line...he does good.
Hits...he does good.
Speed...does not look out of place at all.

And the guy only has 9 games NHL experience. He'll get sent down when all the injured come back but it's not because he cant play in the NHL.

Honestly your post is hard to explain.

Cupmonger 11-24-2009 10:47 PM

Both Pyatt and White have played really well. I don't remember last time seeing new kids getting called up and helping out the team so much. I think these kids may grow out of 3rd/4th liners if they keep up the pace. Probably won't be this season, they're doing great where they are now. But I think that they can grow into something more we see here, they just need more experience and time.

Cheers to them.

Wow, you can tell after just a few games?? I'm impressed!:sarcasm:

uiCk 11-24-2009 10:57 PM

his Pk has been very good

JAVO16 11-24-2009 11:09 PM

I really wanted him to score on that rebound from the breakaway MaxPac got just to top off an awsome night for White, but Bergeron got it so it's all good I guess. He's the kind of gritty guy you build a team with !!

I said it since day one that Ryan White would replace easilly Kyle ''Captain Bust'' Chipchura.

The kind of player that you pick in the later rounds that is.

It looks like the my crystall ball was right once again.

Kyle Chipchura is a bust, open your eyes people !! He can't beat White, let alone Pyatt, Metropolit, Moen, Lapierre and Pacioretty.

:tinker:

Coach Brisebois* 11-25-2009 12:06 AM

What impresses me the most about White is how he can be so combative in open ice. I've seen tons who can take the puck away from someone and outmuscle them along the boards, but rarely someone who can do it in the middle of the neutral zone. He's got great stick control.
