too bad Jovo got suspended. Really could have used him in these divisional games.

Will be interesting to see how we respond to a division rival with the suspension of Jovo, I have to think thats a major letdown after just getting him back. We need to come out swinging and skating.

hao chi 12-10-2009 10:41 AM

Winning streaks gotta end sometime... I just really hope it's not tonight.

Division rival, ahead of us in the standings, playing well. Great measuring stick game.

Ahead by 4 points and 2 games in hand, which makes it that much more important a game if the Coyotes are going to catch up.

PhoPhan 12-10-2009 02:18 PM

The Kings won in OT last night, so let's hope they're gassed.

Gagnefan924 12-10-2009 02:54 PM

Yotes need to come out strong and show that their well rested. Contain Kopitar and play solid D....do that and we have a chance.

Dolemite 12-10-2009 04:45 PM

Don't forget there's a Coyotes viewing party at Oggi's in Glendale tonight!

Oh good! This why I can stuff my body with pizza wings and beer to make the loss to the Kings tonight much easier to swallow.
It would make sense for this team to lose another 2 games before going on another winning streak.
Thanks Jovo!

Lol why is everyone acting like losing Jovo is gonna kill us. He isnt even our best D man. Yandle and Michalek are IMO. Jovo has slown down a ton and really is regressing. Its our offense we need to worry about...wonder if it will show up or go back into hibernation.

It's funny you should say that since Jovo has been a big part of the Coyotes offense. He's got as many points as Vrbata and more than Upshall or Yandle. I don't think he has slowed at all, certainly not a ton.

Gagnefan924 12-10-2009 05:41 PM

Well I think Defensively he has gotten worse. But we have a strong enough D core to pick up the slack IMO. Offensively he's been good but not as much D. I think if we can net maybe 4 goals that'd be enough.

Interesting. I haven't really noticed that. He seems about the same defensively to me. He's never been great in his own zone.

That's enough to win 95% of the Coyotes games.... :sarcasm:

I was bored and curious (scary combination) so I added it up.

If they got exactly 4 goals per game and the opposing teams scored exactly what they did previously the Coyotes would get:

at least 1 point in 82% of their games.
Potentially 5 loser points
54 points if they win all OT games. (90% of possible points)
49 points if they lost every OT contest (82% of possible)

So they'd need more than 4 goals a game to win 95%. But you are close you could probably remove the sarcasm smiley. :sarcasm:

He was leading the entire team in scoring before he got injured. He was on pace to have the best season of his entire NHL career.

Devils Advocate 12-10-2009 07:12 PM

If you've followed this series, you'd know the Yotes will win tonight.

As far as Jovo goes, I'd argue this is one of his best defensive years with the Yotes. He's getting regular pk time, and has had about 1/5 as many Special Ed moments as years past.

If anythings gotten worse it's probably his golf game.

Big game tonight. Lets come away with 2 points. Game is on yahoo btw.

Chootoi 12-10-2009 09:32 PM

wow! not only is this game actually being broadcast on CI... it's in HD!

who'd've thunk it.

Gagnefan924 12-10-2009 09:35 PM

Lol knew I was gonna get flamed for those Jovo comments. If you look at all the past games the loser always had 3 goals....hence thats why we need 4 :)

Chootoi 12-10-2009 09:42 PM

This just in. Nash is all about "Stretch passes"
