Would you want Bobby G to acquire Ray Whitney?

D'agostini and 3rd for Whitney?

Em Ancien 12-12-2009 05:31 PM

No 3rd and that's highway robbery.

jamz 12-12-2009 05:34 PM

Yes I would and name him captain right away

Flambergius 12-12-2009 05:49 PM

Whitney will go to a team that feels itself a serious contender this year. I don't think we're really in that category, so there will others willing to pay much more than we should.

WeezyHabFan 12-12-2009 06:15 PM

Keep dreamin with that little proposal

Miller Time 12-12-2009 06:19 PM

good player, but as much as I'm for adding talent, at this point, with the roster we have, adding another sub 6 foot, sub 190 pound forward for the top 6 would not seem to be the best way to complement the group we have.

we're already getting pushed around by teams in the corners, whitney wouldn't help with that...

but if we could get the league to switch to 4 on 4 hockey... then i'd go for it:sarcasm:

MathMan 12-12-2009 06:22 PM

Whitney is too old. The Habs are not in a safe enough spot that I want to see them trading for one-year assets.

Clumsyhab 12-12-2009 06:35 PM

And let's get Slava kozlov too.

bigdrew99 12-12-2009 08:44 PM

ray whitney is not to old. mtl wants to be a fast hcokey team and ray whitney would fit in well. he is a best of a player not in a physical way but in hustling and producing every year.

Sorry but 37 in the NHL is old.

Bobby G 12-12-2009 08:54 PM

Yes, do you want me to?

bigdrew99 12-12-2009 09:43 PM

hahah true but he plays like he is 29

Hackett 12-12-2009 09:44 PM

whitney doesn't solve anything for this team. The forwards need some more size, speed and ability to win 50/50 battles. Whitney just offers more of the same particularly when you look at the top 6.

Exactly.

We need a Ryan Malone/Dustin Penner type player. I'd be willing to move quite a bit to make it happen, too.

Completely agree, moreover I don't think a rental is what we need right now, we really need a player that could play for some years, cause we ain't contenders yet...

Montreal Typical 12-12-2009 10:42 PM

Not really.

By the way, there's this little thing called a salary cap. Apparently, proposal makers aren't aware of that.

Lafleurs Guy 12-13-2009 12:50 AM

Why bother?

We should be sellers not buyers. The Hurricanes will want picks and prospects in return. We should be doing the opposite of this.

And even if we were buyers, we need physical forwards with size. He doesn't help us there.

Whitney does nothing for us.

Marksman 12-13-2009 03:35 AM

If were getting a forward from Canes springtime, I'd rather have Eric Cole. His cap hit is little less and would compliment what we have better than Whitney. Could work, if we get so send some salary the other way.

vokiel 12-13-2009 08:48 AM

Not really no.
