THN "Future Watch" 2010
It's getting to be that time of year again. We're approximately 2 months from the magazine getting shipped out to subscribers, so I'd imagine they will start working on it soon. I believe they do the majority of the write-ups immediately after the WJC.
Last year, Filatov and Hodgson went 1 and 2 respectively. Just remember, age doesn't matter when it comes to Future Watch. As long as the player isn't considered an NHL regular at the time of printing, they're considered a prospect for FW. Anyone want to take a stab at the top 5 this year? Top 5 for your team? Montreal: 1. PK Subban 2. Louis Leblanc 3. Danny Kristo 4. Ben Maxwell 5. Yannick Weber The issue will hit newsstands on March 8th. Subscribers will likely receive their copies during the last week of February. I got mine on the 26th last year. |
Top 5, no clue. #1 should be interesting.
For Detroit: 1. Smith 2. McCollum 3. Kindl 4. Tatar 5. Ferraro I don't agree with that list, but what I'm guessing it will be. |
:nucks
1.Hodgson 2.Schneider 3.Grabner 4.Schroeder 5.Sauve Thats a pretty solid top 5 |
I'm going to go ahead and guess that they put Carlson ahead of Alzner.
Capitals 1. John Carlson, D 2. Karl Alzner, D 3. Michal Neuvirth, G 4. Marcus Johansson, C/W 5. Mathieu Perreault, C Not at all the way I'd rank 'em, but just a guess. |
1. Jordan Eberle
2. Magnus Svensson-Paajarvi 3. Linus Omark 4. Riley Nash 5. Taylor Chorney |
I'm sure a few Kings fans will disagree with me because I'm so bloody opinionated that it's not funny. Although the top three should be pretty shared :P
1.Bernier 2.Kozun 3.Schenn 4.Teubert 5.Voynov. ... 6. Jones 7. Lewis 8. Zatkoff Jeez, I don't even agree with the way I've placed them. The Kings just have so much talent coming up. Although I think the top five are pretty solid (maybe switch somebody for Voynov, I just really like him.) |
With a little turnover in the top 10 from last year's Top 10 for NJ, I'd say...
1. Mattias Tedenby 2. Jacob Josefson 3. Matt Corrente 4. Patrice Cormier 5. Jaff Frazee 6. Vladamir Zharkov 7. Matt Halischuk 8. Adam Henrique 9. Tyler Eckford 10. Alexander Urbom |
1. Paajarvi-Svensson
2. Eberle 3. Omark 4. Nash 5. Petry |
Vancouver Canucks:
1. Cody Hodgson 2. Cory Schnieder 3. Michael Grabner 4. Sergei Shirokov 5. Yann Sauve 6. Jordan Schroeder 7. Anton Rodin 8. Kevin Connauton 9. Prab Rai 10. Evan Oberg |

For Detroit:
1.Tatar 2.Smith 3.Kindl 4.Nyquist 5.McCollum Right now Detroit is up for debate at nearly every spot but if Tatar has another big WJC then he'll certainly claim the top spot. |
Ottawa:
1) Cowen 2) Wiercioch 3) Silfverberg 4) Lehner 5) Caporusso O'Brien and Smith could both be #5. I didn't include Karlsson (#1HF), Regin (#3HF), Lee, or Zubov. |
Canucks:
1. Hodgson 2. Schroeder 3. Schneider 4. Grabner 5. Sauve |
Looking at the future of some of the teams listed... extremely bright. Color me jealous.
