From Brooks' Twitter:

News: This is one Rangers don't need. Prospal knee to be 'scoped, will miss anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks.

I'll edit this post with more details when they appear. First I've heard of it.

Well that sucks

haohmaru 12-28-2009 11:06 AM

Doesn't suck for Christensen.

Section311 12-28-2009 11:06 AM

When did this happen?

Section311 12-28-2009 11:08 AM

Hopefully its only ten days because we play 12 games in the next three weeks

shootthepuckfool* 12-28-2009 11:08 AM

Maybe Slats can bring Mueller here finally and rescue him from Phoenix where they try to win games 1-0 each night. So far they have pulled off that miracle. It won't last.

OverTheCap 12-28-2009 11:12 AM

Prospal looked a little "off" on Saturday's game and I guess this explains why.

At least Dubinsky has been looking good lately, but this injury will once again limit our depth on the lower lines. I'm assuming Avery will move up to the first line.

Dredden 12-28-2009 11:13 AM

Well this is great, our second legit scoring threat out. Time for someone to step up. Hopefully he comes back sooner than expected.

Like a wise little girl once told me....

W-T-F man.

King of cool 12-28-2009 11:19 AM

Crap. :help:

clmetsfan 12-28-2009 11:19 AM

Well, I guess this means we're not Cup contenders anymore!

DaveZula 12-28-2009 11:25 AM

Just saw that, its pathetic how thin we are in the top six. Hope this doesn't get Sather into a desperation trade for another bottom six player.

Would be nice if it was Higgins.

HockeyBasedNYC 12-28-2009 11:32 AM

Ehh... well...

Time for someone to step up.

10 days is actually 6 games with this busy schedule. ouch.

Im thinking hell be back on the 12th against the Devils.

KotsyJr 12-28-2009 11:32 AM

Not good :shakehead

Hope he gets well soon...

Bleed Ranger Blue 12-28-2009 11:33 AM

I havent really hammered Tortorella on this because I feel like he has no choice, but one has to wonder if this is a byproduct of all that icetime

Terrible news for the Rangers.

Cermi 12-28-2009 11:41 AM

-Dubinsky-Gaborik
Higgins-Anisimov-Callahan
Avery - Drury - Lisin
Brashear - Boyle - Kotalik

Who to put on the 1st line? Avery? Higgins? Cally?
We could give Christensen last chance or call up PAP or Grachev. Hopefully it would be only few games...

Trxjw 12-28-2009 11:43 AM

Higgins/Avery - Dubi - Gaborik
Avery/Higgins - Drury - Callahan
Lisin - AA - Christensen
Voros - Boyle - Kotalik

That'd be my guess pending someone being recalled, but I think they'll give Christensen another shot TBH.

Why not the current AHL Points leader in Corey Locke?

Would like to see if his passing can translate into points in the NHL.

We could use a playmaker.

Because all the higher ups can see is his height, not his production.

I don't think Locke would be any better than Parenteau, and Parenteau already has some experience with a lot of the players on the team.

HockeyBurd* 12-28-2009 11:53 AM

Good... this team had too much talent as it was.
