Ryan White called up/ Laraque Injured

A forward has been called up to take the place of Georges Laraque, who has suffered an upper body injury. This information is per Habs Inside Out.

I'll edit the title once we find out who it is.

PK Subban :sarcasm:

I wanna see Desharnais in a full blown offensive role with Cammalleri and Plekanec... I wanna know, is he the next Martin St.Louis, or the next Corey Locke.

Chris Cutter 01-09-2010 10:08 AM

Trotter :scared:

Ooooooh... I'd like to see that too. Not the biggest line, but surely one of the fastest!

Cammalleri and Desharnais aren't even fast.

Desharnais would easily be top 5 speed wise on the team!
I hope he gets called up, but it's probably Ryan White. or someone gritty.

Cammalleri is fast, he's just not fast with the puck on his stick ala Gomez, Gionta or even Plekanec...

See him fly up to join Plekanec on that 2-on-1 against TB on Dec 30th? He came in quite fast.

lappy goes RW on the plek line

so trotter gets the call up

I agree.

It's unfortunate, and while I have White penciled into my team for next year currently we need a guy who can play on the first line and I think we need to give an offensive guy a chance for a change.

White, Neilson, Stewart or Trotter s'il vous plais

 if this happens, Lapierre is finally playing well, let's ruin him by putting him a role he will clearly fail in like he did earlier in the season.

I am ok with Trotter coming up though.

Ollie Williams 01-09-2010 10:16 AM

So... he still wants more ice time?

RE-HABS 01-09-2010 10:16 AM

In Gainey's mud-season report to the media he was asked about Bulldogs and call ups, he talked about Pyatt, White, Maxwell and then mentioned Carle and Weber as well...I was surprised he talked about Russell in someone that is looking good too. No mention of Trottier.

He did talk of Subban of course too.

I have a feeling Maxwell may get called.

To be fair, St. Louis didn't start in the NHL until he was role until he was approximately 25-years old - so maybe Locke gets called up this year and turns into St. Louis! :sarcasm:

To be fair though, while there are obviously things keeping Corey Locke out of the NHL, he's never really had a chance to show anthing in this league. He's more than 15-points ahead of anyone else in Hartford this year and was the Bulldogs best offensive player for years.

While a lot of people count him out, he's dominated every league he's ever played in, who's to say given a season to adjust, that he couldn't dominate the NHL? Like I said, obviously their are reasons holding him back (skating, defensive effort), but I can't really call someone a bust when they dominant the AHL from the first time they step on the ice and never get a shot in the NHL.

RoyBoyCoy 01-09-2010 10:17 AM

Hopefully White... Might be Stewart :dunno:

Statistics are not everything my friend.

There is a reason why he barely got a shot in Montreal, there is a reason Gainey unloaded him for Shawn ****ing Belle and there is a reason why he still hasn't got any playing time with his new club. He clearly has problems, otherwise he would have been given a shot, heck even Grabovski has got his shot and that guy had extremely questionable character (still does). There is that odd ball chance he can somehow wake-up from his coma and become an NHL player, this HFBoard poster isn't putting any of his vCash on it.

JMMR 01-09-2010 10:21 AM

Probably hurt himself after his best pass as a Hab last game.

Nielson, Stewart and Trotter are not NHL players and may never be. Your best bet right now is Maxwell, Deharnais, Pyatt or maybe White is he can turn his brain on.

Desharnais is not fast, he's slow for a small forward and from what I saw it's seem to be it's biggest problem in the game he played for us this year

RE-HABS 01-09-2010 10:22 AM

If it is based on last nights performance both Trottier and Maxwell had two point nights in a 3-1 win.
