Out of Town Scoreboard

Positions 5 to 13 in the Eastern Conference are separated by a scant 9 points. Makes for some mighty exciting scoreboard watching. Last night really went in our favor with two regulation verdicts (no three pointers). Washington taking out Philly and the Rangers punking the Habs.

The Caps kept the Flyers level with us in points and games and the Rangers really made the Canadiens sitting ducks ahead of us on the table as we only trail them by a single point with 3 games in hand.

We're seeing a healthy holiday slate tonight with 4 games of impact including ourselves....

Ottawa@Boston: I think I'm leaning Bruins here. Even though they're at the top of this standings mess at #5 in the conference I'm willing to give them a pass to step away from the pack to keep Ottawa in striking distance. We only trail the Sens by 3 points coming into today with 2 games in hand. A loss to the Bruins and our beating the Panturds casts a huge blue shadow over that lot.

New Jersey@NYIslanders: Islanders currently hold the final playoff slot in the east. We trail them by a point and have a game in hand. Let's Go Devils! They fall in regulation and we prevail this evening? We put them in our rear view mirror.

TampaBay@Carolina: The Lightning are sitting in spot #13 in the conference and I'd like nothing better than to see them carry some bad luck into Raleigh. They trail us by 3 points and I'd love to see the Hurricanes add a little breathing room to our cause.

Atlanta@Florida: A no brainer must win. Playing a team below us in the standings. We must come out with purpose and take advantage. Cannot play down to the opposition when 2 points are so vital. lets win and force the issue in conference!

i would much rather see Boston pull away a bit and keep other teams down. i think getting up to 6th is a reasonable goal

Payinthedues 01-18-2010 05:28 PM

Well today hasn't gone our way so far. Let's hope for a win to keep us in position.

AtlantaWhaler 01-20-2010 04:55 AM

Not much help last night... Thank Kovy we won.

Sens got a huge wake up call after their loss to the trash... Their lookin real good right now.

Telfo 01-20-2010 10:24 AM

AtlantaWhaler 01-20-2010 03:21 PM

Telfo 01-20-2010 08:22 PM

Cats lost. Habs losing 3-1 after 2. things looking good today.

btn 01-20-2010 09:07 PM

Well the Habs are going to get at least one point thanks to some truly awful officiating in their favor at the end of the game.

Well we still have 2 games on hand on them, not to mention that we also have the tie-breaking. As long as we take care of our business, Montreal will have hard time catching up to us.

AtlantaWhaler 01-21-2010 07:33 AM

Full slate today. Games we care about:

CBJ @ BOS
STL @ OTT
FLA @ NYI
NYR @ PHI
TOR @ TB

Good day today, so far.

The Pens beat the Flyers in regulation, and the Hurricanes are beating up on the Bruins 3-0 in the 2nd period.

Bruins are really struggling right now. They need a shakeup. Bring in some scorer to rejuvenate their efforts.

Cats won and Isles lost. we are 1 point out! (granted there are 8 million teams tied 1 point ahead of us)

btn 01-26-2010 09:02 PM

The standings are just insane right now. We are tied with the Bruins.

Georgia Dawg 01-26-2010 09:48 PM

AtlantaWhaler 01-27-2010 06:57 AM

Two games tonight we care about:

CAR @ NYR
MTL @ TB

(I would cheer on the team we need to win in the first game, but I believe my computer would explode. Just know I want the Rags to lose.)

Telfo 01-27-2010 09:21 AM

i guess TB beating MTL would be better so we would stay 1 point out and have a chance to jump into the top 8 tomorrow night

Tristelune 01-27-2010 03:21 PM

I can't believe that I am going to cheer for the Lightning tonight ><

Georgia Dawg 01-27-2010 09:02 PM

Rags and Canadiens both lose tonight in regulation.

Telfo 01-27-2010 09:04 PM

hooray! we can get back into the top 8 tomorrow
