Jack Johnson IN vs. New Jersey; Drewiske Cleared to Play

http://lakingsinsider.com/?p=3686

"Jack Johnson is practicing this morning, which is a good sign for him and the Kings. I’ll get an update after practice, before the flight to Boston."

The Dingo 01-29-2010 11:38 AM

This is a good change from long-term injury plagued years of the Andy Murray era

"After practice today, Jack Johnson said he has an arm injury, and Johnson and Terry Murray both said it was not certain whether Johnson would play tomorrow at Boston. It seems likely that a decision will be made after tomorrow’s morning skate. Johnson practiced today, but Murray said Johnson did not attempt to shoot or pass with full strength.

If Johnson is unable to play, either Davis Drewiske or Randy Jones could play. Murray said Drewiske has been cleared to play, but that he wouldn’t play Drewiske in both weekend games."

Hammond leaves the complicated dot-connecting to us apparently.

Another Johnson article: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/spor...ry-murray.html

"Johnson didn't do any heavy passing or shooting during this morning's workout at Nationwide Arena. Before accompanying the team on its charter flight he said he "would like to think" he can play against the Bruins but will see how his arm feels tonight and Saturday.

"I’ve got to make the smart decision long-term. Hopefully I can [play] but we’ll see," he said.

He limited his activity today, he said, "Because I’m not worried about practice, I’m worried about the games. There’s no sense in pushing it.

"It's a sore arm. It’s hopefully something that will get better each day and I’m hoping it gets better sooner than later.""

Wouldn't it just be Whiskey in, JJ out?

Depends. Whiskey would only play one of the two games, not both. If JJ is out both games, we're stuck with Jones in one of them.

Johnson's back in the lineup per Hammond. No word on Drewiske. Kings will dress 7 D.

"Terry Murray said Jack Johnson will play today against New Jersey. As something of a precaution, the Kings will go with seven defensemen, with Peter Harrold staying in as a forward."
