Vlasic 1/29

Apparently he's day-to-day, injury unspecified. Who knows what that means though.

I'm hoping this at least means we get a look at Moore finally.

Gilligans Island 01-29-2010 05:01 PM

as long as it's not a torn acl or something equally bad, i think it's somewhat of a good thing for the team to learn how to play without its top 2 dmen.

sjshark91 01-29-2010 05:15 PM

Doesn't sound too bad but who knows could be lying.

LadyStanley 01-29-2010 05:21 PM

If it's a broken foot bone, could be out until after trade deadline.

Pavs was out 15 games I believe he had a broken foot bone.

VP and GM 01-29-2010 05:36 PM

lets not panic- it did not sound like it was a serious injury that would keep him out of the lineup that long - **** people are wanting Seto to play D now...

SharksAddict 01-29-2010 05:37 PM

Did anyone actually see the play he was hurt on? Seems to be a mystery at this point.

FreeVille 01-29-2010 07:06 PM

i dont think it was bad. i was at the game and didnt notice him grimicing. might have just tweaked it.
to be honest the person i was most worried about was murray who took a shot off the foot that hurt him

Wow, nice analysis, Plank.

Bet Pickles is out until after the deadline. That'd be the most prudent if it's somewhat mild.

Retsopuk 01-29-2010 08:02 PM

did u guys hear about staubitz practicing as D today?

Vlasic is an ironman too. He didn't miss a game last season or the season before that, and his rookie season saw him in 81 games. Here's hoping for the best.

your being too kind of Staubitz. He'll just get himself in the box and we'll be back to 5D anyway

I thought Staubitz started out as a D and played nearly all of his AHL career as D, until his last season when he got moved to forward? So it's not totally unreasonable that on a cap constrained team like the Sharks (who have both Couture and Demers already up), that they may try to have Staubitz sub in for a game to see how things go.

LadyStanley 01-29-2010 09:46 PM

McLellan said he would not play Brad at D.

So, there might be two D guys recalled for Saturday's game.

Gilligans Island 01-29-2010 09:50 PM

Joslin or Moore will get called up. Staubby was just a practice fill-in, I bet.

booost 01-29-2010 09:51 PM

The way the sharks medical staff evaluates these injuries, day to day means 2 weeks and 2 weeks means 6 weeks.

So no worries about Staubitz then. That might mean the D would be:

Murray - Blake
Huskins - Leach
Demers (?) - Joslin / Moore / Groulx (Danny) / ??

210 01-29-2010 09:56 PM

It's Joslin...

Sent to Stockton, perhaps?

"San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forward Logan Couture and defenseman Jason Demers to the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League."

http://sharks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?...id=DL|SJS|home

I believe this means he actually has to go to Worchester for at least a day.

210 01-29-2010 10:20 PM

Couture arrived too late to play tonight. I didn't hear one word about Demers heading this way.

210 01-29-2010 10:24 PM

And as soon as I make my post his transaction is posted on theahl.com...I presume he's on the same flight as Joslin.
