are my skates to narrow for me??

I recently bought some Bauer Supreme One75s, size 9.5 D and I think they might be too narrow. I'm not sure, these are my first pair of good skates, I've been using much cheaper ones until now. when I skate on them for about 15 mins it starts to feel like the side of my feet are being crushed. after I taker them off and bend my feet at the toes it hurts like hell, like my feet are breaking. people say "oh they're just new you need to break them in" but I've had new skates before and never experienced this. The guy at the hockey shop said if I got them in a wider size and didn't need them it would result in my heel moving around a lot. he also said he could punch them out for me some more, see if that feels different, but I can never tell in the store, because I only start to feel it after skating in them for 10-15 minutes.
anyone have some advice for me?

I have really wide feet too. And mine hurt like this. But I had them baked about 3 times and then don't tighten them so much at the sides (so I do tighten them at the toe and ankle the most). Try that and see how it feels.

i have the same skates, and had the same problem. loosening the laces and baking helped out, no pain at all and they are amazing skates

I dont think baking will affect the fit around the toes though, that just moulds the ankle foam. Punching them might help, if you can figure out where exactly they are tight.
