Which Hab UFA (other than Kovalev... too obvious) would you most like to see re-signed this summer? (age & 03-04 salary in parenthesis)

1. Patrice Brisebois (33, $4 million);

2. Yanic Perreault (33, $2.8 million);

3. Joé Juneau (36, $2.05 million);

4. Karl Dyhuis (31, $1.6 million);

5. Stéphane Quintal (35, $1.5 million);

6. Andreas Dackell (31, $1.4 million);

7. Jim Dowd (35, $775,000);

8. Darren Langdon (33, $500,000);

9. None, they're all overpriced, overaged bums!

Brisebois 04-22-2004 07:53 PM

Dowd, obviously.

Side note: Brisebois still has another year on his contract (the extra year option).

Lafleur is NOT hallucinating right now. Just thought you all should know.

fufonzo 04-22-2004 07:53 PM

I go for Dowd, but what about Sunny?

Edit: Because Sunny is an RFA. Nice...thanks Dutchy....;)

I would like to see Dowd, Brisebois and Langdon back.

Cayouche5 04-22-2004 07:56 PM

Brisebois, but not at 4millions

Artyukhin* 04-22-2004 07:59 PM

Patrice Brisebois (33, $4 million) probally gotta resign him,think he's in for one more tho

2. Yanic Perreault (33, $2.8 million)..probally his last year here cant see him resigning after this year.

3. Joé Juneau (36, $2.05 million).im thinkin it joe juneau last year with the habs...i like juneau he;s done a great job for us over these last few years but age is catchin up to joe..the youngster are a nippin at his heals

4. Karl Dyhuis (31, $1.6 million) anything a 25 round pick anything..lol..most likley he will be bought out...karl might need a frsh start some where else...maybe whl ?..

5. Stéphane Quintal (35, $1.5 million)..cheap enough..probally not in montreal next yr

6. Andreas Dackell (31, $1.4 million)..its to bad but there not enough room for daks..i gotta think he wont resign

7. Jim Dowd (35, $775,000); gotta signed him not bad for that money..remember we paid killger 800,000 for nuttin..dowd brings it every night

8. Darren Langdon (33, $500,000); i say resign him..he knows his role and doesnt take foolish penealties at bad times..we paid loose cannon gino odjuick 750,000 a yr..i liked gino ..but langdon seems more stable..lol

Brisbois is not UFA until next year. Eventhough, he is the only one would hold on to but at a lessor price.

Free up money, as much as you can. Bring up the prospects. Use the money in 1 year or 2 to sign as many UFA as you need to get the cup.

Out of this list, Jim Dowd, no about about that. He's such a smart player, and to me, he doesn't play like he's 35 years old (except for the gray hair). Seriously, he is still very fast on his skates, and create offense. I also think he is pretty good at keeping the puck downlow in the opponant's zone. The best example to illustrate what I mean is the end of the 3rd period in Game #7... he was able to save his team about 20-25 seconds with his hard work in the Boston zone. It could have made a difference if the Bruins had 1 minute 15 seconds instead of, say, 55 seconds to score the tying goal. These are kind of things that go unoticed... but are highly appreciated by the coaching staff.

He would definatly be a smart signing, in my opinion (if there is hockey next season, obviously).

Mooch 04-22-2004 08:14 PM

Brezzy's contract is NOT up at the end of this season.

My choice: Dowd!

Vicious 04-22-2004 08:43 PM

Dowd is the obvious choice but I really want to have Langdon here next year.

eddy 04-22-2004 08:49 PM

Brisebois to a cheaper contract, dowd and langdon.

EaGLE1 04-22-2004 08:50 PM

Of course Dowd & Langdon. But I would prefer using a youngster like Plekanec or Higgins instead of Dowd on a third line.

Dowd is very good in his role. You can see he have very limited offensive talent but he is smart & do the good plays in the 3 zones. Defensive specialist!

Maithz 04-22-2004 09:28 PM

Dowd & Langdon

Maithz 04-22-2004 09:32 PM

Juneau ---> out

Quintal ---> out

Dackell ---> out

Dykhuis ---> out

Perreault ---> maybe out

Brisebois ---> will maybe resign for less than 4 M

Zednik - Koivu - Kovalev*

Perezhogin* or Kastsitsyn* or Hossa* - Ribeiro - Ryder

Bulis - Dowd* - Ward

Begin - Higgins - Langdon or Sundstrom

Bouillon - Brisebois*

Markov - Rivet

Souray - Komisarek

I think Perezhogin , Kastsitsyn & Hossa will battle for a top 2 line spot , they can make it . I would prefer to see perezhogin but that's my opinion .

* maybe not here next year due to contract or because they are rookies

oli500 04-22-2004 09:42 PM

I would go for dowd and Langdon.

BigM1ke 04-23-2004 12:17 AM

Langdon and Dowd. Brisebois isn't an UFA.
