Oh relax. Everytime GMs make trades somebody says crap like this despite the fact that Gainey has been one of the most active GMs in the league since July 1st. I guess 27 other GMs are asleep at the wheel as well.

The Flames have lost 9 of 10, the Leafs are last in the East, and the Rangers have gotten shutout a bazillion times this year. Hence the activity.

I remember saying last year that Calgary should trade for Higgins as he is a Sutter like player, he may fit in this system.

TSN is saying the same.

We are ONE of 30 NHL teams, just because one of the other 29 adds a player doesn't mean we missed out on it.

Calgary is trading Jokinen because he wasn't a good playmaker for Iginla so I doubt Gaborik scores any more or is any more durable with his presence.

His behaviour makes it look like his ass is on the line.

That is precisely why I'm scared of Bob Gainey right now. Who knows what he could do in an attempt to save his own ass...

That doesn't really seem like Gainey's type, although you could certainly argue the Gomez trade was his own "ass-saving" move.
