Signing Phaneuf

I know the Rebels are tied 2-2 with the the Tigers right now but is there a chance the Flames would sign and play Phaneuf assuming the Rebels lose this series? The defence is depleted and one more injury leaves the Flames with only 5 dmen. Thoughts?

I doubt it because I think they would like to sign him under the new CBA, but I don't think it woudl be a bad idea to do so. Better than Evans. Couldn't hurt his development getting a feel of the NHL playoffs.

Well Iggy is a forward and Dion is a Dman. If a Dman makes a mistake, than they'll get the blame, but forwards are not always to blame for goals against the own team.

In the end, I don't think that it would be any good to let Phaneuf play.

Yea, i agree too.. even tho we are so injured on the blueline

Had this been our run to the cup then I'd think it would be imperative that we sign Phaneuf because we have noone else on D now. But this season isn't about going deep into the playoffs. It was just to make the playoffs and play well in the 1st round.

The Flames have exceeded all my expectations and thats what makes them so dangerous now because they have achieved all their goals so far this season. Anything else is a cherry ontop.

So yea, no rush to sign Phaneuf.
