Haha.

So Leino for a 5th in 2011?

Wow, his stock has dropped.

Seems like it may have been a cap move

They need to get Franzen back under the cap.

leftcoaster 02-06-2010 12:41 PM

at least he goes somewhere he'll get to play (intended for ville but i guess it works for both)

Leino got more than enough chances to play.

In fact, he got too much.

And he had no interest in being demoted. Despite showing no reason why he shouldn't be.

Let the waiver war commence for Toleffson

Canuckle 02-06-2010 01:14 PM

How Atlanta didnt get involve in this Leino trade is beyond me.

jax00 02-06-2010 01:14 PM

I'd put in a claim.

Steve Eminger is better than Tollefsen. And THAT is saying something.

Neither can play defense. So I'll take the guy who adds some toughness, because the Ducks defense has no balls.

GKJ 02-06-2010 01:22 PM

Nah, I'd still put OKT ahead of Eminger. If not for the contract than anything.

FissionFire 02-06-2010 01:24 PM

Someone needs to get a suicide watch going for Wolfy.

yay 02-06-2010 01:43 PM

McKenzie (Twitter) confirmed it was a cap move.

Wings put OKT on waivers to open up roster spot for Johan Franzen coming back from injury. Leino, if waived, would have been claimed.

Dirk316 02-06-2010 01:48 PM

god forbid the Wings allow someone with some balls on their roster

Would play OKT over Eminger or Festerling, hopefully the Ducks take a chance

Diskothek 02-06-2010 01:58 PM

Bruins? Boychuk just left the game after taking a puck in the face. We also have Stuart out and McQuaid is up playing. He's been good, but we might have to call up the Woz soon...

Who does OKT unseat from Detroit's roster? He makes Brett Lebda look like Paul Coffey. Balls or not, OKT is not an NHL caliber d-man, even on a 3rd pairing.

ManOnTheMoon 02-06-2010 02:02 PM

I was hoping the Avs would sign Tollefsen in the offseason. Given our logjam on D, I doubt they'd claim him now, but I wouldn't mind it. If Tom freakin Preissing got ice time with the Avs, Tollefsen can.

Here is how much he has been healthy.

06-Feb-10 Acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers.
14-Jan-10 Missed 14 games (sprained left MCL).
15-Dec-09 Sprained left MCL, early January.
14-Dec-09 Missed 16 games (concussion).
10-Nov-09 Concussion, sidelined indefinitely.
30-Sep-09 Unknown, sidelined indefinitely.

korben* 02-06-2010 06:51 PM

Lol.

Poor Tollefsen.

DarkHorse 02-06-2010 07:37 PM

Obligatory "How could the Isles pass on him?" post.

xtr3m 02-06-2010 07:48 PM

Bad timing for Detroit. They lost three forwards to injuries today, so they have more room now.

eva unit zero 02-06-2010 11:56 PM

But they still got rid of the pile of fail known as Ville Leino, and got a 5th rounder to boot.

That's a +2!

As for the forwards, The Wings still can always go with:

Abdelkader/Datsyuk/Bertuzzi
Franzen/Zetterberg/Cleary
Helm/Filppula/Meech
May/Draper/Maltby
