Army will be traded

Next to be traded by Atlanta is Colby Armstrong. I think his value will be highest at 2:50 on deadline day.

he has been pretty bad this year and 2.4 million may be a little steep for a slow guy with 18 points.

i wouldnt mind if we keep him because he is a good locker room guy, but i dont think putting Machacek in his spot would hurt us at all

John Cena* 02-10-2010 01:35 PM

good get rid of him... He's been horrible this whole season and he doesn't want to be here.

FrenchKheldar 02-10-2010 02:45 PM

Given the wingers in Pittsburgh, I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded there at the deadline for a 4th round pick.

I think we could get a lot more for Army.

DungeonK 02-10-2010 05:56 PM

He'll get a 2nd rounder or better or he won't be traded. Judging by some of Waddell's comments though that shouldn't be a problem.

CaptainKishimoto 02-10-2010 06:25 PM

I want Army to stay, but that seems like wishful thinking now =[

John Cena* 02-10-2010 07:54 PM

I want him to stay.... for atleast 2 more years but if that's not the case then rid him.

I'd like to see him and Cormier on the same line but that likely won't happen, Army won't re-sign.

For a UFA 3rd liner rental? 3rd round is best case scenario...

brownvm 02-10-2010 08:52 PM

Don't forget expensive, third-liner, rental... who is slower than your average third-liner.

Great locker room guy, though.

John Cena* 02-10-2010 11:11 PM

He should be dealt especially after tonights game. No way in hell he should be getting top minutes and PP time.

I've got a feeling he's quite coveted among some of the GMs of the league (or maybe that's just what DW wants everyone to think), getting a 2nd rounder back is definitely not out of the question. Rugged depth forwards that can play solid defense AND score are a huge part of successful cup runs. Yeah, he's been pretty trash this season, but his reputation should be able to get us a decent return. Mathieu Schneider got us a 2nd last season after all, despite being way past his expiration date.

Aaronxxx 02-11-2010 08:42 AM

colby is one of the hardest checkers in the league. you guys are undermining his value in a trade.
