Brashear cleared waivers :amazed:

Get right out of town

X8oD 02-12-2010 11:17 AM

May ran out of gas 2 months in.

Its bad when this guy displaced Ville Lieno, and then gets waived. Lieno has yet to play a game for Philly.

Isn't Lundmark a good prospect?

He's 28 or 29. He was a highly regarded prospect.

Nowdays he's just a AHL'er who sadly fits well in short spurts on the Flames.

In 1997, yes.

haha, nice. I always thought this guy would be a great pro. Never really turned out for him. He has shown spurts of solid play, but couldnt put it together for extended periods.

Exactly. I remember last year against Detroit when we were down 5-3 or something like that and he scored two goals in the third to save our *****. One of them being really pretty.

Making Brashear's request for a trade even more laughable. Trade, Donald? Nobody even wanted you for free.

dredeye 02-12-2010 12:39 PM

i can't remember who it was but they called the May would probably get waived. I'm pretty sure it was Mackenzie though

Big time May fan...wouldn't mind the Canucks adding him for some depth and experience in the bottom six. Has a Cup ring and is a great locker room guy.

Im a huge May fan as well, but if you bring him in Hordy/Glass have to go.

Rivet52 02-12-2010 05:05 PM

I like May. It's too bad. I really thought he would finish up the season as a Red Wing and have one last shot in the playoffs in a place that before this year was a great place to go if you wanted to go all the way. I wonder if they assign him to Grand Rapids if he clears. He's 38 so I don't know. Yet again, Schneider's in Manitoba.

:biglaugh: at Brashear.

Vitto79 02-12-2010 06:47 PM

:laugh:Brashear's an idiot. Demanding a trade, getting waived, and not getting picked up for free. At least Mayers demanded a trade and was worth SOMETHING. Brashear can stay in the minors. He won't earn another NHL job in his career.

Brashear, May, AND Laraque all gone.. end of enforcers in hockey it seems.

i agree that May would be a decent locker room guy.one of the favs should add him just for the last few months of the season.

Randall Ritchey 02-12-2010 11:17 PM

16 points in 27 games for Lundmark this year. Someone is bound to take a chance on him right?

i doubt it, he's already cleared 3 times this year and was playing better the last time he cleared

straka91* 02-13-2010 12:58 AM

it seemed to good to be true, detroit having someone with 10 fights for the 1st time in years may gave it his all and holland shat on him, a very cheap gritty player somethin detroit needed to protect all the europussieees on the team, hope buffalo or chicago pick him up for cheap playoff grit

Ya, I was just going to ask how many times this guy has been waived in his career. Somebody just needs to sign him on a 2-way already, or maybe make like fellow screw-up Brendl and KHL it. Could the KHL be considered a verb?
