If Foppa plays well in OLY and wants to come to Philly, any takers?

I was against this earlier this season because of his injury history and possibly high price tag, but if he plays well in the Olympics it may change my mind? Thoughts?

Hollywood Couturier 02-12-2010 09:10 PM

He has to pass through waivers and that's not happening. Also, he's under contract with MoDo

If his cap hit is able to be absorbed by sending down someone to the Phantoms, then why not? If he expects to be paid anything that would cause a real move to be made, no way.

I would welcome him with open arms. I love Foppa. He would be a perfect fit with our team.

JLHockeyKnight 02-12-2010 09:25 PM

In before Harv's mancrush response.

Hollywood Couturier 02-12-2010 09:26 PM

It's impossible.

Next season, yes. This season? Impossible. As someone pointed out, he goes to waivers.

Imposssssible.... plus waiverrrrrz

Mgkibbles 02-13-2010 12:18 AM

I thought he already said hes staying in Sweden for this season

dbow2019 02-13-2010 12:28 AM

With our offensive struggles recently, adding a player like Peter Forsberg for what I assume would be the league minimum would be great...That being said, its not happening

PhilaFlyers 02-13-2010 01:18 AM

Impossiblewaivers

TheTaekster 02-13-2010 01:22 AM

Yes please. with no hesitation. i would give my left nut to see foppa in a flyer uniform again

fire bettman 02-13-2010 01:35 AM

It wouldn't be a complete hockey season without the annual foppa thread.

I am very openly not a fan of Forsberg considering all the drama he caused us during the whole ordeal of "is he coming back? yes I am! no I'm not. Hey, I'm coming back to the Flyers! Hey, I just signed with the Avalanche!"

As far as I'm concerned... Thank you for your time here Forsberg. It was great while it lasted. Now stay the **** out of Philly.

I know I'll probably get **** for talking badly about him, I don't really care. And don't get me wrong I loved having him here but I'm over it now... how about Flyers fans everywhere do the same, eh?

Lomark 02-13-2010 05:46 AM

Please trust me on this... Forsberg will never again be able to play more than just a handfull of games in a row. He won't even last the entire Olympics imo. His foot is not right. You can see it in his eyes when he gets questioned about it. He's very touchy about it and you can tell that the media here in Sweden have been told to stay away from the subject in interviews...

Along with Lindros he's the best player I've ever seen in a Flyers jersey and I loved him here but it's not in our best interest to sign him now. He can still be dominant in short strings but he's not the same and won't stay healthy..

JagerPuck 02-13-2010 07:11 AM

Ahh if only...

DeadPhish5858 02-13-2010 07:21 AM

If it were possible yes. I love Peter Forsberg. No homo.

jb** 02-13-2010 07:31 AM

Yes highly unlikely. However. Would a team knowing he only wanted to play for the flyers want to put in a waiver claim? That isnt good for there image and th elike. Forsberg and his agent could then steer potential free agenst away from said team and the backlash may not be worth it.

medicman 02-13-2010 07:42 AM

No, No

only added the second "no" cause the message was too short....

DrinkFightFlyers 02-13-2010 08:23 AM

I thought he only had to pass through waivers once the deadline passed?

JLHockeyKnight 02-13-2010 08:38 AM

The fact that Harv hasn't posted here yet has made me lose faith in humanity.

ForsbergIsOdin 02-13-2010 08:58 AM

I stay out of Foppa to Flyers threads, because my opinion is already known.
