How much smaller are you wearing you skates?

Rule of thumb is to go 1 to 1 1/2 sizes smaller then shoe size.

Which do you go with and why?

Also, any idea where I could find a new Bauer ONE55 in a 9 D new?

Thanks.

I wear an 11 and my Vapor X:30's are a 9.5D, so 1 1/2. Too bad you don't live in St. Louis, a few of the LHS around here still have the One55's in stock.

noobman 02-17-2010 03:17 PM

I don't really understand that rule. I wear 12-13 size E-EE shoes (depending on brand), but my Bauer skates are size 10.5D (though I could probably fit into a C size boot)

Badger36 02-17-2010 03:39 PM

I wear size 12E shoes but my skates are Nike Bauer Supreme One05 size 11R. It doesnt make sense, but the Bauers fit my wide feet well.
I tried Eastons in size 11E and they were way, way too tight.

Wow FloPo a lot of our equpiment is creepily similar. I have the same shoe size and skates.

TinofGrizz 02-17-2010 03:44 PM

10.5D/E size shoe, 8.0D size skate CCM Vector 10.0 SE. I prefer a slightly tighter fit with my skates then most people

Yeah, creepy since you like the Hawks and I like the Blues! LOL.

8.5 shoe

and I either get a 7 narrow or 6.5 regular, depends on brand.

Jarick 02-17-2010 04:03 PM

9 or 9.5 shoe, depending on the width (I have narrow heels and wide toes).

Been using Vapor XXV's in 7.5EE for 2 years, but they're too big. Just got Vapor XXV's in 7.5D off CL last night, they seem better but heels are still too wide.

Saving up for Graf 735's in 7.5D...

RinkRat6671 02-17-2010 06:29 PM

8.5 shoe

7.5 in my new Bauer Supreme One75's, 7 in my old CCM's

i have weird feet, and even though my CCM's are falling apart, they fit my feet so well. I'm not sure i'll ever toss them.

jwise514 02-17-2010 08:17 PM

10.5 shoe, 7.5 Bauer One95

SpringfieldSkins 02-17-2010 08:23 PM

I wear a 10.

Just bought a pair of CCM U+ 09 in a 7.5D

gojacketsgo61 02-17-2010 08:38 PM

I have super small, but wide feet.
9 in normal shoes
7.5 EE (well widest I could get) in a one75 skate. I find the supremes are bigger fits than vapors.

iamtherunner 02-18-2010 12:06 AM

I usually wear a size 11.5 of 12 shoe. My Bauer Vapor XVI's are size 9.5 D.

blueberrydanish 02-18-2010 12:12 AM

Wear a 11.5-12 size shoes and my 10 size XVI skates fit PERFECT. My toes just barely graze the end when I put my weight on my toes.

Renneys Revenge 02-18-2010 02:17 AM

guys it's really not the size that matters...

jk jk but in my ccm powerlines (verrrry recreational skates falling apart after 3 months of use) run at 10 and i'm a 10.5/11

Hockeyfan68 02-18-2010 02:39 AM

My shoe size is 13.5 and I wear an 11.5EE to 12D Bauer skate size. The 11.5EE skate for my left foot only I need to scrape out the toe cap so my toe does not touch the toe cap too much.

I need custom made skates but themz are some $$$ I think my left foot is almost but not quite a half size bigger than my right if that makes sense. It has been a nightmare my whole life buying skates so I try to as little as possible.

eberleclone 02-18-2010 02:41 AM

I wear a 14EEEE (yes quadruple wide) shoe, and I wear a 12EE pair of Easton s15's.

Heat McManus 02-18-2010 02:52 AM

8.5 shoe

5.5 EE Vapor XXX, XXXX

5.0 EE One95

tobyandmisty 02-18-2010 05:27 AM

Thanks for all of the info.

Jarick 02-18-2010 09:32 AM

Yeah I'm sure if I could spring for custom skates it'd likely be AA/D with 7.25L and 7.75R with a wide toe cap or something ridiculous.

Danrik 02-18-2010 10:43 AM

10 Shoe
9 E Eastons

Devil Dancer 02-18-2010 10:45 AM

Shoes: 9.5-10
Skates: Easton 8.0 R

densetsu 02-18-2010 11:17 AM

Size 13EE shoes. Size 12W (Graf) skates.

I could probably go 11.5W, but I like a bit of room in my skates.

Any particular reason why?
