anyone else bummed the Olympics are over?

It has been a great 2 weeks, and now I'm a little bummed having to go back to watching the NHL.

The NHL is great mind you, but we witnessed some of the best hockey ever played yesterday, and throughout the games.

I wish the Olympics came more often. I understand why they don't - but still.

Anyone else feel this way?

Kamal007 03-01-2010 10:55 AM

Yes, I am bummed. As a Leaf fan, I won't be seeing a good team for a good while, that I follow. From seeing Crosby, Getzlaf, Thornton, Keith, Doughty, and Toews all on the same team, to seeing Kessel and Phanuef. Plus, I loved watching all the other sports and watching every gold medal run.

Psycho Papa Joe 03-01-2010 10:57 AM

Most of all I'll miss the sheer joy at thrashing the likes of Germany, Norway ....

...and Russia.

Thank you Slovakia, Switzerland and the US for actually showing up to compete and adding some more grey hairs to my head.

Laus723 03-01-2010 11:10 AM

no, I'm ready for the NHL to start back up. Pretty cool that the deadline is so close, too.

MontrealHabitant 03-01-2010 06:01 PM

After-Olympics sucks

Why do I get to watch Mathieu Darche again ?

I want some Iginla like 4th liners on my team first line instead.

Bgav 03-01-2010 06:02 PM

i have to watch ryan johnson

rojac 03-01-2010 06:27 PM

See, if the NHL didn't take part in the Olympics, you wouldn't have this problem.

djpatm 03-01-2010 06:33 PM

I have to watch Matt Stajan on my FIRST LINE.

For FOUR YEARS.

Come Sochi, things will be different... No more Stajan!!

AlexandreBurrows 03-01-2010 06:34 PM

i wish betmann never expanded, it diluted the game.

now that they are here i dont want any city to lose their team but boy oh boy. just over 20 teams would be a lot better.

Hades 03-01-2010 06:35 PM

It'll sure be weird to watch non-blowout games.

It'll be weird watching fights too.
I actually preferred the no fighting, made the game quicker.

Badger36 03-01-2010 06:47 PM

Yes and no. I will somewhat miss all of the national pride and excitement that the olympics bring, but after a couple weeks of the olympics being on every night, I was starting to get burnt-out on it.
Im looking foreward to getting back into the swing of the NHL season, the NHL playoffs and the WCHA and NCAA hockey playoffs.
Im even looking foreward to March Madness a bit.

BlackAces* 03-01-2010 06:50 PM

I have to go back to watching endless turnovers by Malkin, and horrible defence by Gonchar, rather than benefitting from them.

:(

BlackAces* 03-01-2010 06:51 PM

Also, back to scrums after every big clean hit :(

Captain Iago 03-01-2010 06:54 PM

Nope, I'm thrilled it's over. Back to reality.

LAX attack* 03-01-2010 06:56 PM

I will miss all the events :(
But I am not that saddened that the NHL Will be back :D
And it eases the pain of the Trade Deadline being in 2 days :D

Mr Branko 03-01-2010 07:15 PM

Back to O'Brien roughing penalties 90 feet away from the play

rojac 03-01-2010 07:17 PM

Two weeks is pretty much just right.

If it went much longer, people would really start to get sick of it and it's better to leave them wanting more.

ComrieFanatic 03-01-2010 07:19 PM

I'm going to miss cheering for a winner. Watching these games brought back memories of Maple Leaf playoff hockey. They better make the playoffs next year!

Flyers Fan Forever 03-01-2010 07:21 PM

What?

I feel the complete opposite. Olympics is just a two-week long series of exhibition games for me, the NHL is "real."

I Hate Chris Butler 03-01-2010 07:21 PM

Back to reality. =\

awesomo 03-01-2010 07:23 PM

Wah wah. At least 25 other teams would love to put up with Malkin's ineptitude.

Okay, you win.

stingo 03-01-2010 07:24 PM

It'll be hard to watch for a couple of days, after the caliber of hockey we were used to over the past 17 days. But it'll be alright. Right?

SactoShork 03-01-2010 07:25 PM

yeah... now i have to wait 20 more games for the Thornton bashing to resume.
