His columns remind me of "The Outside Scoop" by Jackie Harvey on The Onion.

Fischler is like Larry King without the profundity.

Yes. The Onion Rules!

How about Fischler's prediction about Smolinski. Where the hell did that come from?

Smolinski was always talked about as playing 'less passionately' than most come playoff time.

WHat is he really trying to say? Stan knows that some great players have never won a Cup. Conversely, some borderline NHL'ers have their names on the Cup too. Is he insinuating that Smoke is such a detriment to the roster that any team he's on is automatically out of contention?

It's a dumb, dumb comment...

perhaps no team will win if he's one of its top six forwards, but if down the road he's a veteran pick-up as a third or fourth liner, who knows? I guess Stan knows.

Maybe it's just me, but isn't avoiding punctuation such as exclamation points Journalism 101 stuff?

Fotiu22 04-29-2004 02:00 AM

anyone's thoughts on the comment that rucinsky wants to come back to NY?

I thought he played real well for us last year and wouldn't mind having him back.

Firefly 04-29-2004 02:39 AM
