Mathieu Schneider To Phoenix for Sean Zimmerman + 6th Round Pick in '10

Sportsnet.

Schneider traded for Sean Zimmerman and a 2011 6th Round Pick.

Edit: Lukowich re-assigned to the Moose.

I guess they needed the spot there for Lukowich.

Zimmerman = Bigish AHL defensive d-man.

I wonder how many pucks are in the bag that we got for him.

So glad we traded him to someone in our conference. One less team we need to worry about having a tight locker room going into the playoffs.

Wayne Maki 03-03-2010 01:26 PM

Cool. Hopefully we got something of value. Phoenix sure is stocking up.

I'd be thrilled with a 3rd or 4th which can be used later in the day.

cbjerrisgaard 03-03-2010 01:27 PM

I'd be happy with a bag of pucks and a therapist from the mental damage he caused lol.

black ace 03-03-2010 01:28 PM

good deal even if we only get a 5th or 6th back.

Taco Fingerhat 03-03-2010 01:29 PM

Hell, I'm just hoping we get 'Future Considerations' back.

CCF23 03-03-2010 01:30 PM

"Undetermined draft pick"

As long as it IS a pick, I'm happy. Stoked we actually got something for him.

Conditional 2011 pick.

UBCsalmonslayer 03-03-2010 01:33 PM

Main boards seem to think that it's Dman Nick Ross coming back to the Canucks... first round draft pick a few years back.

edit: looks like everyone now agrees it's a conditional pick, not Ross coming back our way.

Prob because he plays for Vancouver Giants (I checked... looks odd to me, but seemed to look like he went from the AHL, the ECHL, the WHL...?)

parabola 03-03-2010 01:38 PM

The condition on the pick is if he clears waivers according to Botch.

Mr. Canucklehead 03-03-2010 01:40 PM

I'll wait for word from TSN or Sportsnet before accepting that Nick Ross is the piece coming back. If someone gets a link to a legitimate source(i.e.--not some random Twitter account) that says that's the deal, post it here and I will amend the title. Thanks!

Would that be re-entry waivers?

LostMyGlasses* 03-03-2010 01:49 PM

I'm hearing in the Trades boards that its a 2011 pick? True?

Yes.

Connecticut 03-03-2010 01:58 PM

It would be pretty funny if Phoenix took him on waivers now!

 You cant pick up your own players on waivers.. That's the whole point of waivers.

Velociraptor 03-03-2010 02:03 PM

Who knows what we ever got for Jim Sharrow? I think it was a similar deal to this one.
