I’m sure you will join me in wishing Bob a speedy recovery so that he can return for Monday’s game.

get well soon Bob

heh - Jim and Daryl. That should be...uh...interesting

Get well soon, Bob!

DAkings20 03-06-2010 01:50 PM

Shellz 03-06-2010 01:52 PM

Aw, you're the best Bob! Get better soon :)

Jim and Nick...aaahh man. This is going to be funny.

Shellz 03-06-2010 01:53 PM

best wishes to bob, but how about hammond's career and his meteoric rise? from being a blogger-sportwriter at a pretty small paper, to being maybe the most popular kings blogger out there, to calling games on the radio? awesome, rich. that's how a journalist makes a career in an internet-based world.

he's gonna be the next GM book it.

Should have promoted Nick to the TV pbp. It'll be "interesting" to listen to Foxy do pbp.

It'll be frightening to hear Hammond do color on the radio.

GKJ 03-06-2010 02:09 PM

Oh man, I hope I get a listen to this. When was the last time Bob missed a game?

aegwillnotwinthecup* 03-06-2010 02:11 PM

Wow, Bob must be really sick. When was the last time he missed a game?

that was my thinking as well. maybe nhl commish some day.

and i don't remember bob EVER missing a game, and i've been watching basically since the late 1980s.

JMFJ 3 03-06-2010 02:24 PM

This is going to be weird, so used to listening to the greatness that is Bob Miller.

Zad 03-06-2010 02:28 PM

I don't like this at all. Jim Fox is French Canadian. He even wears, I am told, his Montreal Canadians jersey when he skates. I vote JDM and I be placed in the booth to call the game and bring some style to the broadcast.

DIEHARD the King fan 03-06-2010 02:33 PM

Zad you are right on the money. Foxy wears Montreal colors often in pickup games. He never comes off the ice either, so I guess Daryl aint likely to get a word in edge-wise, which is just as well.

RH could be frightening as a color commentator.

P.S. It been many many many years since Bob missed a game, so I'm hoping he's ok. Get well quick.

DAkings20 03-06-2010 02:35 PM

They should have just let Heidi to play by play, but on one condition. She doesn't speak and there is a camera on her at all times.

KingsFanInRI 03-06-2010 02:58 PM

I can only recall Bob missing one game when his daughter was either getting married or graduating from HS or college or something like that. That night Nick did PBP and 99 got his 2,000th point up in Winnipeg. He may have missed one other game but if he did I can't recall it. That may have been the only one.

Jim Fox should take a page from Randy Moller's book:

Sydor25 03-06-2010 03:08 PM

From Hammond:
Also, just to follow up on Bob Miller, this will be only the 18th game he has missed since becoming the Kings’ play-by-play announcer in 1973. Bob hadn’t missed a game since 2002.

My thoughts exactly.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery Bob!

Honestly, is there any better play by play broadcaster in the business? I think not.

Jwm1986 03-06-2010 03:18 PM

This sucks....its hard to imagine watching a Kings telecast without hearing BOB....

I remember last year when Bob was on the ice before the game doing some pregame ceremony and he couldnt get up to the booth in time for the start of the game, Jim did the PBP for a few minutes.....it was comical....i hope he has been working on it....

is this guy weird or what....most of his one liners dont even make sense....entertaining to say the least....

The Dingo 03-06-2010 03:26 PM

Nick should have done PBP on the TV side.

It is going to be interesting to see how Fox does

That would seem obvious.

I guess they didn't have anyone else to do the pbp on the radio other than Nick. I actually liked Nick when he was Bob's sidekick.
