Lighter/summer weight outer socks

The outer hockey sweater socks that go over one's shin pads are fine when it is cold outside, and so is the rink.

However, with the weather starting to warm up, my local rink is covered only by a bubble and while they manage to keep the ice surface solid, it is noticeably warmer in the rink if it is warm outside.

So, I'm looking for something lighter in weight than the typical sweater sock, and found mesh hockey socks online:

Are these a reasonable option to using the heavy sweater socks? Or is there something better?

You could try an extra large pair of Nylons

Those look like your best options, let me know if you find anything else. I find my shin pads do most of the insulation, never really been bothered by overheating. Maybe you could save some money and modify an old pair of regular socks

The RBK socks (retail version) are probably a little cooler than the standard yarn style sock. The velcro tabs on the RBK socks don't work so well with a lot of jock shorts; maybe a bit better with a garter belt. From what I've read on the boards, the pro stock RBK socks are much better.
