Seth Lake 03-12-2010 12:55 AM

The game will be on 97.1 FM locally. Conflict with Vandy basketball...

quoth the Raven 03-12-2010 12:56 AM

Thanks. And why did you merge it with the other dude's video? Now the post with all the information isn't first...

OpenWheel 03-12-2010 12:58 AM

Bad Karma to mess up SabreTooth's game day thread by subordinating it. Edit...

Seth Lake 03-12-2010 01:03 AM

Eh...I tried to merge his post into your thread to consolidate the GDT's, but due to the timestamps...his post showed up first...

I've separated them now. Will let Joe decide whether or not to keep it up there...

quoth the Raven 03-12-2010 01:03 AM

Thanks for unmerging them, SLake. :thumbu:

Now let's get some positive vibes in here!

Cool. I hadn't even noticed (well, did but forgot) the Jim Mora vid post mentioned the game below the video. So I at first thought the merging was some sort of little joke.

Well. Shame to waste such a good offensive effort vs the Sharks. They have to be really strong from here on. It'll be tough to bounce back right away, but heading out I thought they'd kick butt on this trip. So go out and kick butt Preds!!

thejlb* 03-12-2010 03:06 AM

heres to not having to take heart medication tonight. Hopefully...

sparkle twin 03-12-2010 03:48 AM

This game will determine our season (maybe). The Preds either answer yesterday with a strong performance and get determined and put a streak together (or at least play full 60 minutes and make those teams pay for beating us) or that loss begins a bad losing streak.

Here's to a '****ing-pissed-off, take-no-****, we're-winning-this-game' attitude!

LET'S GO PREDATORS!! :yo::hit:

worstfaceoffmanever 03-12-2010 04:03 AM

We can't actually throw out the last 20 minutes of the San Jose game, but that's what the team has to do, mentally.

This team is very beatable, and we have to beat them if we're going to hang on to that 7th spot.

TMI 03-12-2010 06:08 AM

Not only do I want a win tonight, but I want a dominating win. I want this team to come out so hard and fast that they make everyone in Anaheim cry. I want this team to prove to themselves that they can manhandle a team for an entire sixty minutes without breaking a nail...

quoth the Raven 03-12-2010 07:12 AM

Good luck at the game tonight, boys! I'll be rooting for you while enjoying my favorite band live in concert. :)

Also, I'm with ThirdManIn. Dominate them tonight. Make 'em duck soup.

hatedandproud 03-12-2010 07:33 AM

Well, I think I agree with spank...
I hope these guys are very mentally tough and have the proper intestinal fortitude to put the horror show from last night behind them and beat anaheim with a solid 60 game.
If they don't play hard and focused tonight and sag if faced with some adversity, then I think they may be done.

Go Preds and please win this thing.

heres to drinking in celebration... not to drown our sorrows.

This is going to be a long work day followed by an even longer stretch for the game to start.

lugnut76 03-12-2010 08:24 AM

I think this game will tell us a lot about our leadership group (thinking more about players than coaches) and who on our team has character versus those just along for the ride (or paycheck).

Enoch 03-12-2010 08:38 AM

Dumont on our fourth line and Smithson on a scoring line is, and will continue to be, a freaking joke. It makes me sick.

Jonesey 03-12-2010 08:46 AM

I might go to bed at 8:30, and just record this.

Totally agree. Why are we paying JP $4 million and Legwand $4.5 million to play 4th line and shutdown roles respectively? I think Trotz has to challenge both of these guys, especially Legwand, to be more of an offensive threat. He's not the type of player that Datsyuk is but that's the comparison he needs to make and what he expects from Legwand. He also needs to put better players out there with him and starting with Dumont on one of his wings would be a start. Having Dumont on the 4th line is not what Poile and the owners envisioned when they signed him to his contract.

Smithson is a 4th line grinder/PK specialist and his minutes need to be limited to that role. The end of the second period frustrated me too. He and Legwand have a 2 on 1 and Smithson can't handle a pass right onto his stick to even get a shot off. That's pathetic. This is the NHL, not C league hockey. These are the little opportunities that cost us games, not being able to get quality shots off in critical situations. We score there and it's 5-2 going into the third and the momentum shift is totally with us. Instead we go in up 4-2 and that is not much of a cushion against a team like SJ.

Roman Yoshi 03-12-2010 10:15 AM

Dedicated to the entire Predators team.

Just replace bears with sharks and you get my feelings from last night.

I know these lines seem absurd, but we did score 5 goals last night.

jstreet 03-12-2010 10:30 AM

I want to punch my tv every time I see Corey Perry's face.

Im gonna go ahead and guarantee that he hits the deck no less than 6 times tonight when someone lays a hand on him.

Can't count the times I point out to my wife that we have no finishers. Breakaways seldom result in goals. Wide open nets on rebounds way more often than not do not yield goals. After watching skilled players around the goal crease during the Olympics, our deficiency was made more apparent. With the exception of Hornqvist, Weber, our wayward Russian, and maybe Arnott, we just don't have skilled goal scorers. We have hard working, blue collar guys. Sometimes we get the lucky bounce, sometimes we don't.
