$200 and four games...
 

I just decided to catch up on some games for my Ps3 with this paycheck since my dad picked up my rugby fees for me. I've got 200 dollars. What two games do I get out of these in the opinion of you fine gentlemen (:sarcasm:) here..

CODMW2 vs. Madden10 vs. NHL10 vs. Assassin's Creed 2

NHL 10 should be bought, no question.

I liked AC2, but it has zero replay value.

Not really, wise to wait for NHL 11.

Although I will probably skip NHL 11 because I own NHL 09 and 10 and can't see myself buying it EVERY year.

Don't buy Madden.

AC2 is $30 at gamestop. It price dropped quickly. MW2 can be found for $40 at some places.

If you have NHL 09, I'd wait for NHL 11. NHL 10 is a little so so.

Thinking outside the box, I highly recommend Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

PlayStation 3; and I was actually considering that since I have Bad Company which was a pretty good game. Is it a game you can play twice? Thats my only worry with God Of War 3 and Assassins Creed 2; it's a one play. Thanks to the guy with the game spot tip, I'll look into that since that'll probably leave me enough to buy three games.

I got NHL09 and Madden 09, should I just wait for both 11's? The reviews for the games make it seem the same as the old ones, so I don't know if I wanna spot a combined 120 bucks or whatever for both.

You can play online, single player is for *****s.

being that you have the 09 versions, i'd wait. i have nhl09 and skipped 10 because there's really no point in buying that game every year since they don't really change up too much.

if youre a little short on cash games like god of war and assassin's creed are better served as rentals.

codmw2 has some good replay value because of the online component. from what i've seen of battlefield: bad company2, it's also a good choice. solid multiplayer.

killzone 2s multiplayer is awesome, too, imo ...and always got great reviews.

the downloadable Battlefield: 1943 was also really good and should only be around $10 or so.

Bad Company 2 has a "good enough" single player to play through once, but the online is what will keep you around. It's a lot of fun.

AC2 is definitely a one time play, although its fun. As another poster said, I would save that (and GoW3) for rentals.

As for Madden and NHL, the new games for those typically come out in August. If you can wait 4-5 months for those, I would wait. NHL10 is a really fun game, but by the time you finish it the next one will be right on your doorstep. Madden is fun as well, but a really shallow game if you are a Franchise player (as opposed to Online) like myself.

Disagree on AC2. It's one of those games that's so fun and has so many diverse gameplay aspects (not to mention a pretty good, if also hard to follow, storyline) that I've gone back to it twice since I beat it the first time. Last time a game has compelled me that much was Resident Evil 4.

Every hockey fan should own NHL10. Best NHL game ever, IMO. MW2 is an awesome game in it's own right.

I would get NHL 10, but admit it's pretty similar to 09, I still like it though. They've made some obvious improvements, goalies are less glitchy imo.

You know when the puck is right in front of your goalies stick but he doesn't cover it/can't see it for some reason, and then the player on the other team gets a free goal if you don't get to it first?

Well that happened to me often in 09, has happened once in 10, and the only other goalie glitch I've had is one time Halak for no reason skates out to get the puck by the boards but a leaf was there and he shoots it into an open net, funny part is, it was the 3rd period and I was winning 7-0... Halak :shakehead

That still happens. If you're not in butterfly then he just stands there staring at the puck and you have to press triangle to cover it.

NHL10 is was better then NHL09 and it's not even close. Basically the exact same game with improvements. It took no steps back. And no glitch goal.

Assassins Creed 2 is fun and would take forever to pass. I still haven't. Madden 10 is the greatest football game ever made. But wait until 11 and rent 10. CODMW2 I have on 360 but rarely play cause of constant owning.

I can't give much advice on BC2 singleplayer since I'm still on the 3rd mission. :laugh: The multiplayer is so much fun though. I've only been playing for about 2 weeks now and already have 47 hours logged online. Mainly because I had spring break last week but still, I wouldn't play a game with little to no replay value for that long.

If you're playing online get Bad Company 2 and not MW2. BC2 has just a better online play and although it might not be as populated, it isn't a bunch of hackers/glitchers.

Get Modern Warfare 2, and get MLB 10 The Show. You will NOT be disappointed with THE SHOW, even if you don't like baseball. The game is absolutely fantastic.

Any details on vehicles you can use in the online? Planes? Trains? Automobiles? :)
