Kings 1 v. Blues 3 (3/25/10) THOUGHTS AND TIDBITS

Kings 1 Blues 3

I think we should've played Ersberg today. Quick needs a break.

Kings could NOT capitalize on their chances!

1/7 on the PP.

Even more bad news is that the PHX-NSH is heading to OT.

Stoll does not deserve to be on the #1 PP. Johnson does.

Chris Mason played great for the Blues.

Off to Dallas on Staurday.

PS: at least our d-man didn't score any goals on Quick! :D

AKAY47 03-25-2010 09:32 PM

Yay! Go Kings! Go Pp! Go Jamie Kompon! Go Stoll On The First Pp Unit Instead Of Jack Johnson, Yayyyy!!!

DAkings20 03-25-2010 09:33 PM

Scratch Jones, Waive Stoll and Put Greene and Clune back in.

TonySCV 03-25-2010 09:33 PM

Well poop.

Calgary lost, so that's cool.

Meh. 1-1-1 for 3 games in 4 nights ain't bad.

agentfouser 03-25-2010 09:33 PM

blues wanted it more, and they got it.

Chazz Reinhold 03-25-2010 09:34 PM

Limping into the playoffs.

You mean back home for Dallas on Saturday?

Brad Doty 03-25-2010 09:34 PM

Quick needs a break. I don't care if he tells the coach he's ready; I'm sure the having a child on top of playing 300 games this year is starting to wear on him. His focus is not all there.

Herby 03-25-2010 09:35 PM

Whatever, this night is a win with the Flames losing.

The Blues have zero chance at the playoffs, so it doesn't matter we gave them 2 points.

Kurrilino 03-25-2010 09:35 PM

Well deserved loss.........

We have a brilliant coaching staff and a great game plan...
don't know how this game is turned into a loss

So, you would rather keep Jones over Stoll?

... For those who kept asking the Kings to shoot the puck -- they did.

They directed 63 shots toward the Blues' net (to only 39 for the Blues), but the Kings shot 13 of them wide and 19 of them were blocked.

The Kings did a good job of getting their defensemen into the play and they didn't give the puck away any more than the Blues did; the Blues just played a great defensive game and were well positioned to claim almost every loose puck. Have to give credit where it's due.

:shakehead:help: That game... I mean if your power play isn't working... Change it up. I feel like tonight the players where effective in setting up the power play but it the PP strategy wasn't working. St. Louis had a great defense for it. The Kings coaching staff is so quick to shuffle lines up when things aren't working with the players... but how about shuffling up your coaching strategy when it's not working???

Eh... I'm gonna make myself a steak dinner. I earned it for watching that game.

Exactly what i think

Dmoney97 03-25-2010 09:37 PM

Meltdown.....And WTF is stoll doing QBing the PP??? With that sorry excuse for a wrist shot.

AKAY47 03-25-2010 09:38 PM

First PP Unit:
Smyth-Handzus-Kopitar
Doughty- Johnson

2nd PP Unit:
Frolov-Stoll-Brown
Drewiske-Doughty

and please fire that clown Jamie Kompon, please?

KingsFan7824 03-25-2010 09:38 PM

They looked like they wanted to be anywhere but St. Louis today.

Definitely a trap game. A home and home against a team that is right with you in the standings, and then after going to Colorado, the next night they have to go to St. Louis, and play a team well behind them in the standings. It didn't look like any player wanted any part of this game. Especially on the PP. Someone has to be open, but it looked like the Blues had 7 guys killing those penalties.

Not if you put him on waivers.

MxK1NGS 03-25-2010 09:40 PM

Did I mention that Phoenix and Nashville are in OT... Bad news for the Kings as the Preds leaps over em.
In others news, Jackets kick the **** out of the BlackHawks 8-3!

Crappy loss but it was a b2b and not entirely unexpected.

With Cgy's loss - though - our magic number* to make the playoffs is now at 10. :yo: Any combination of points we get/points Calgary fails to get that tallies up to 10 or more will ensure us a playoff berth. Given the games remaining, I'm feeling very confident about the playoffs.

* the asterisk referes to the unlikely possibility that another non-playoff team wins virtually every game and we lose nearly every game
