Martin Reway of Slovakia was named the best forward of the tournament. Tomas Torok mentioned in the interview he gave to webhokej that he had around 15-16 points in the tourney and Reway had even a few more. Koyš went home early because of some injury trouble. Usually these three play together on the u15 team.

Thanks for this update! A little disconcerting that the B squad was no match for a younger team from Moravia and lost to Poland, ouch. The Torok-Reway-Koys line sounds amazing. :) Good to hear Reway played for SVK and not Moravia.

The team from Moravia was U15 just like the two Slovak teams, the team from Poland was a year older, mainly players born in 1994. It´s hard to say that the results of team B are really concering. You have to consider that currently there are only around 200-300 players a birth year in Slovakia, you can hardly get 50 players who would perform as well as the A team from that. Personally I am more concerned about the 8 goals in teams A net from Moravia.
Btw there was a lot of games played between the two A and B teams during the season, but for some reason SZLH does not inform about anything regarding the U15 team.

Yeah, the line sounds amazing, can´t wait for next year when they start to play some "serious" international hockey. As for Reway, well I don´t really see how he would play for Moravia as he is originally from Prague. I have no idea whether he already has Slovak citizenship and whether he is going to play for us in the future. I´m not sure he does have it since it would mean that he would have to give up his Czech citizenship cause for some reason the Czechs don´t allow double citizenship.

Anyway, a team consisiting mainly from 1995 born players from Nitra 5, Topoľčany 3, Dolný Kubín 3,Trnava 2, Poprad 1, Zvolen 1 and Slovan Bratislava 1 is currently playing at the U15 Viking Line Cup in Sweden named "Slovakia Stars 95". The team also includes a few players from both the A (4-Paulovič,Belovič, Reway and Bačík) and B (5-Kasanický,Jendroľ,Szalay,Školout and Achs) national teams. They are doing rather well at the tourney, and they will play in the semifinals tomorrow.

I just thought we might look how some of these class does against international not only national competition. I know that maybe it might not look like the strongest opposition playing against club teams from oter countries, but for example a seletion of top players from the Western Slovakia 9ŠHT (U16) league finished 5th at this tournament a few years back.

One thing I´d like to point out is the number of penalty minutes. This Slovak team has 80 ! PIM over 6 games despite the fact that I haven´t lost any of them. On average they played over 13 minutes a game SH. This continues to be a pretty huge problem in SVK hockey that has cost us a lot on the international level from the youngest NT right up to the senior NT. And not just the national team, but HC Košice last season for example lost their chance at a Champions League pot in the qualifications due to unnecessary penalties, cuz they weren´t really any worse than the two German/Swiss teams in other areas of the game.:shakehead:help:

Btw the team from Slovakia that is listed as a particpant of the 95 World Selects Invitational in Helsinki this year is called "Slovakian Stars", so I wonder whether it will be this same or a similar team playing there.

Slovakia U16- Czech republic U16 7-2 (3-1,3-1,1-0)
Goals: 3x Patrik Koyš, Martin Reway, Róbert Varga, Lukáš Kasala

Branislav Šajban: "During our first 6 days long training camp in Skalica we concentrated our attention mainly on deffense. It is necessary from a developmental point of view for this team of youngsters. Because at the school league level they concentrated more on the offensive game. Observations from last season only confirmed that we have to go this direction. Btw we started the first game against the Czechs with a deffensive mistake and a goal in our net. We talked with the boys about it and afterwards (although not always the way we imagined) they followed what we told them before the game. There´s a number of talents in this team, who really have talent from God, know how to score goals. However it is essential that they don´t get scored on unessecarily and don´t destroy their psychics with their mistakes. Offense and deffense have to be balanced, both have to be functional and the boys managed this. We will continue with practising the deffense system during the rest of the season."

The scoresheets on SZĽH´s website can be pretty unreliable.

Anyway, 2nd game:
Czech republic U16- Slovakia U16 8-3
Goals: Reway, Balej, Šoltés

I´d like to see the line-up from this game, so we´d actually know how much it differed from Friday, but if we go just on the training camp roster we might have changed about half of the team. Also, we got scored on 5 times on our PK.

Yeah, I heard that too. I was more wondering whether there were any changes on D, because missing these guys of course influences the game, but we can´t really blame the 8 goals in our net on missing some of the top forwards.

Thanks, however it is possible that the new players had the same numbers as some of the players on Friday. For example there´s one of them with the No. 15 and it was Tomáš Torok who had that number on Friday acc. to SZĽH and we know that he didn´t play.

Wow, that´s a pretty busy shedule for July/August. By the start of the season they will have played 12 games. Quite funny considering that many of the U16 leaue teams only played like +/- 40 games during the 9ŠHT season.

I am not sure that tournament in Austria will be played in august, maybe during season. Who knows. I am sure that tourney in Poland will begin at 10 august
