To Mr. Joseph Kaizer or Charles Prevost Linton / Let the fans sing !

If the habs win game 7. We should let the fan sing to create a special atmosphere like that,

Thank you.

Would it be a part of the "commandite" program? :sarcasm:

yathehabsrule 04-26-2010 11:31 PM

I think we need to do something like the Flyers do with Lauren Hart and the late Kate Smith.

Either Kaizer or Linton sing it along with a video of the late and great Roger Doucet. Best clip I found was this NFB vignette of him gettin ready to sing at the Forum.

LaurentHabs 04-26-2010 11:37 PM

They should let the fans sing the end... "GOD KEEP OUR LAND .. Until the end". Just not the American Anthem. Fans are so disprispectfull to it

They gota add Liviing on a prayer to bell center songs and let the croud sing like @ Detroit

TankEller* 04-27-2010 12:11 AM

Agree 100% with this! The crowd would totally get the players into it even more than now.

Saint Patrick 04-27-2010 12:52 AM

I dunno but i find it to be a great way to connect with the team on the ice.

Shabutie 04-27-2010 12:59 AM

Trust me when I say that the entire team heard the crowd tonight...Everyone was loud as hell. My head is still spinning. After the game we still had a Ovy Sucks chant going through the street.

The last thing on Earth the Habs should do is give Habs fans control of an anthem. We've been brutally disrespectful to BOTH anthems in recent years.

I think what Edmonton does is pretty lame

Nothing is stopping the crowd from singing ALONG with the anthem singer

NewBlood 04-27-2010 09:10 PM

I'm not convinced this would work in Montreal. Just a few years ago, a lot of people weren't even standing for the anthem. And a lot of people still think singing the anthems before games is a stupid idea. I don't know if some of you remember but in the early 1990s, the Expos started to play the anthems in the afternoon, when the stadium was empty, to avoid people booing the Canadian anthem. Like it or not, Montreal is not like English Canada and a lot of people, myself included, would consider it pretty lame to do like in Edmonton. Not that I don't like my country, I'm just not a fan of overwhelming patriotism.

agreed.

Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it- george bernard shaw.

i think asking the fans in montreal to sing the national anthem is asking for trouble, and shows poor sense of foresight. No offense.

If Linton is singing let the fans join in. If Kaiser is singing let him do his thang, this guy's bad a**.

I agree.

It was cool when it was spontaneous, now it just looks as staged and cheezy as their anthem singer.

good to know. It's heart warming when organizations give jobs to people with special needs. Kinda like how we signed bergeron.
