Best team ever, even without Bødker. Hopefully we can take down Germany and then see what happens in the qualifying round.

Very interesting team. Will be fun to see Regin this time around.

Shame Bødker isn't available.

Yup. Will we ever see all of Denmark's stars together?

Indeed, the group of forwards is stronger than ever and goaltending has improved. Don’t know about the defence, on paper it looks better compared to last year. Still looking forward to the game against Germany.

Bust. Played for Timrå last season where he also disappointed. He has kind of an attitude problem, which is a shame since the talent seemed to be there.

He is now looking to get a contract in Sweden for next season. Most like in Rögle it seems.

Sure looks like relegation round for Denmark :(

Brian78 05-08-2010 04:12 PM

Glad to see I was waaay off, I knew we had a good team this year but I did not see this coming, very well done by the whole team and it was a deserved win.

Will still be tough but even if we lose to USA and Germany we can still avoid relegation round if USA beat Finland without OT but im sure the Danish players want to finish this themselves!

Well, there are no lower prioritized WC than those in Olympic years, so I suppose we gotta take it with a pinch of salt.
...right after milking this rare glory for all that it is worth, of course :D .

I could sort of kinda see an opening game surprise.... after all those happen. But to build on that and stay tough to beat the US in OT after the Finland-warning... and not even look lucky doing so... that I never saw coming.

Fantastic. Now beat ze Germans :yo: .

Of course ... you are not going to beat Canada, USA, Sweden and Russia the first WC.

Yet Danemark, on a global level, has better and better players. You are having success in the NHL with some players. Some of these players are not even in the present team.

For me you are a future nation of hockey.

Is Hansen eligible to play now that the Canucks are out of the playoffs?

Brian78 05-11-2010 11:58 PM

Hansen has said no to join the team twice if Canucks are eliminated, as late as 2 days ago. He doesnt think he will be ready to play due to jetlag and such, also he says its only fair the players who have done so well get to play the matches.

And DIU should respect this, and take it as a no. I fully understand Hansen, and respect his decision.

Jacob Christian 05-12-2010 04:14 AM

It is the right decision made by Jannik Hansen. Although I think he will be able to strengthen Team Denmark in the next round, his dissapointment of being eliminated from the playoffs could have a negative effect on his play if he came over.

I mean, this year really was Canucks ultimate chance to go far in the playoffs.

Without Hansen or not, Denmark will still have to perform above usual level to advance to the quarterfinals. A victory against Germany today will improve the Danish chances but it won't be an easy game.

After surprisingly winning the first two games, the Danish team is the favorites against Germany, but I hope that Pär Bäckman has told his team that this game could be their toughest job so far in the tournament. Germany is on home ice and needs a win to be sure to advance (a loss to Germany and a Finnish win against USA can also do it for the Germans).

If I was the Danish head coach I would play Germany the same way as we played USA. It will be game deciding to win the neutral zone and to close down in our own zone.

Kim Staal will get a day off so Alexander Sundberg gets his first game of this year's World's. Sundberg will play an important role in the 4th line where is strength can be useful against a big, strong German team.

Kasper Degn will (probably) move up to the third line and play next to Morten Green and Julian Jakobsen.

Jesper Duus is out with an upper body injury.

With Slovakias loss we are now through to the quaterfinals :handclap:
