Tonight On The Radio Show Former NYR Goalie & Lightning Scout Steve Baker

Tonight On the show Steve Baker is our guest. Steve is an interesting guy who was part of the scout team when Torts won the cup with the Bolts.

Steve is still a scout with the lightning, primarily scouting Boston Area Players.

I will be asking him about his new boss Steve Yzerman and his experiences with Torts.

Show airs live at 8 PM tonight or catch it on Podcast

0-0 tie with the Flyers at the Garden. Baker and Rick St.Croix. Probably the best game played by Baker.

keep it up mouth....ask him about finally grabbing the #1 slot only to rip his groin to shreds on a Halloween night in boston i believe

NYR Viper 05-26-2010 09:56 AM

Ask about Ranger draftees from the Boston area, Kreider and Bourque and the players from there in the draft this year like Coyle. Thanks Mouth!

Baker was a great guest and I asked him the questions asked by Rangerboy, Yankeecpt and Hockeyviper in this thread.

He remember the game against Philly vs. Rick St.Croix the 0-0 and remember playing well.

He remembers the night he ripped his groin in Boston and in detail and graphically told me what it felt like and said basically that was the end of his career.

He said the Rangers after the injury were talking about dealing him to the Bruins for Jim Craig to reunite Craig with Herb Brooks.

Loves Krieder, Stepan especially. Said he saw Anisimov at Traverse city a couple years ago and Artie was a beast.

I asked him about Torts and he said that Tortorella is kind of an enigma and Torts likes it that way.

He also loves the new ownership in Tampa and Stevy Y of course. He has been working with the lightning since 1994.

He told an awesome Nick Fotiu story.
