Leblanc Thread (Update-Q Rights traded to M.Junior)

Jimmy Murphy seems to think so: http://twitter.com/MurphysLaw74?utm_...5145173&ref=nf

"Source told me today that Habs prospect Louis Leblanc, now represented by Pat Brisson, will leave Harvard and play in Hamilton (AHL) 2010-11"

AntonCH 05-28-2010 05:31 PM

If Jimmy said it it must be true ;)

If this is clearly the case, I'm looking forward to watching him develop

Fel 96 05-28-2010 05:34 PM

that would be a great news.

Celtic Cross 05-28-2010 05:35 PM

WOOOOOOOOOOO i hope this is true

skule123 05-28-2010 05:36 PM

Someone ask James Murphy to revisit his many comments about how this year's Habs are the NHL's "laughing stock".

yanokovich 05-28-2010 05:37 PM

Please Do It!

ECL 05-28-2010 05:38 PM

Really don't think this is a great decision. He needs more work.

JGRB 05-28-2010 05:39 PM

Probably the right choice for the development of his NHL career, once you get into Harvard you can always go back when your older.

Here's to hoping he can have a "Subban-effect" down in Hamilton next season, lord knows we need a decent size body with size down the middle, not to mention a righty.

If Guy Boucher is still the coach next year in Hamilton, I can't think of someone better to ease him into this position and flourish down the road.

I don't want to go too far off-topic, so maybe someone can answer this quickly? What's going on with Kristo for next year? He staying in college or going to the AHL as well?

Which he'll get plenty of in Hamilton.

Form and Substance 05-28-2010 05:46 PM

I agree, I think this might be a bit too premature a departure. Not saying Harvard was the best place for him to develop, but still, I hope this doesn't turn out like Max Pac v.2

Bieber fever 05-28-2010 05:47 PM

He shouldn't leave Havard......

I really don't want to be a dick , but I don't feel him at all.I believe he will be an other timmins's first round bust.

Bekbe 05-28-2010 05:47 PM

I just hope to see Guy Boucher stay another year in Hamilton to work on this next project.....first one was Subban.....imagine if he play in hamilton with Avtsin....we got to keep Boucher

Goldthorpe 05-28-2010 05:47 PM

This may be true, but I'm surprised the deal would be done before the prospect camp next week, since Leblanc is supposed to be there.

RoyBoyCoy 05-28-2010 05:52 PM

Chyeah Chyeah! Get it done please!

JeromeHP 05-28-2010 05:56 PM

not surprised he would leave Harvard but going to AHL right now.... i dont know if he's physically ready for this.

I do too, I never liked the pick from the beginning. If he pans out I will gladly eat some grow, but I think picking Louis was a huge mistake.

RE-HABS 05-28-2010 06:01 PM

If he leaves early I think the Habs will have him play in the Q so he can dominate and get some confidence, being on the 4th line in Hamilton getting limited minutes will hinder him.

He will develop better in the NCAA?

The reason I prefer the CHL route is because the players have a longer season with 68 games plus playoffs. College is less games. The CHL is closer the the "pro experience" for work load

The AHL has a longer schedule as well and matches the pro experience. We also seem to have a pretty good developmental coach there

It's too bad the kid did not opt for playing in the Q if he is ditching college this early. The CHL is the best development program there is

scottyG 05-28-2010 06:33 PM

How big is he anyways?
And how big to you think he'll get?

Natedawg 05-28-2010 06:33 PM

If thats the case, would the habs allow him to go play in the WJC?

vokiel 05-28-2010 06:34 PM

Some NCAA fans will have to wake up a bit. He played 31 games last season!!! 31!! That's no where close enough to have a good development cycle regardless of the work you might do in a gym. If he leaves for the AHL and actually makes the team then that's the best news we'll have at the beginning of the next season.

LyricalLyricist 05-28-2010 06:36 PM

If he leaves, its for the CHL I hope, not for the AHL. Not saying he's not ready, just why rush? Plek/Gomez and wtv will be under contract for a while.

ReVeuF 05-28-2010 06:37 PM

I reallllllly hope Guy Boucher will stay at Hamilton next season !!! With all the rumors around him going to TB or Columbus make me sad.

Schooner Guy 05-28-2010 06:40 PM

I'm going to wait until after next week's prospect camp before giving an opinion on this.
