Rattling/buzzing sound in new Easton Stealth
I just picked up a new/old stock Easton Stealth from Sportscheck for a good price, but when I got home noticed a rattle from inside the shaft.
Can't see anything wrong, but when I tap it on the floor or with my finger a high pitched rattle occurs. I pulled the plug out but there is nothing that will come out that would cause it. I called them and can return it in the morning, but it was the last one they had and it was marked down by $100. Is this a major defect or something not to worry about? |
I'd return it for sure. Could be that a layer of material wasn't covered with resin and it's loose. If that's the case, then I figure it would start to weaken and eventually the stick will snap.

yes, go return it, same thing happened to my friend's SC6 stick, granted its not a Stealth, but nevertheless, same problem
|
When you pulled the plug out the rattling didn't stop?
A lot of S17 and S19s had loose plugs. We had a lot of guys thinking something was wrong, but it was just the plug itself rattling around. |
No, it rattles with or with out the plug.
It goes back tomorrow morning. Might check around some of the other Sportschecks. It was the Orange/red one, with no pattern name. The guy said it was a Foresberg pattern 100 flex. Thanks for the thoughts. |
You either have a diamondback or a bees hive in your stick. Return it for a new one. :D
Seriously, I have that too, but stick works fine. Eventually you get used to it. But if you're worried, return it for another. |
Yeah, I work at Sportchek(not sportscheck) and you shouldn't have any trouble returning or exchanging it.
|
The return went smoothly, with no fuss. Good people to deal with!
