Will Dafoe be back??

Do you think Byron Dafoe will be back with the Thrashers next year???? I really hope he is, because I think that if he isn't back with the Thrashers, his NHL career is over. :dunno:

No, he won't be back in Atlanta but I don't think his NHL career is over if he takes a paycut. A lot of teams wouldn't mind a backup goalie with the experience that Dafoe has.

Most likely Dafoe will be gone.

Lehtonen will be given more time next year, and the transition is made easier for him if fellow Finn Nurminen is there. Michael Garnett is ready to play full time for the Wolves in the AHL, and Cassivi is a career minor-leaguer who is decent when needed in a pinch. Unless Dafoe wants to take a huge pay cut and mentor in the AHL, pretty unlikely he'll be back.

And Hurme's unknown status puts him out of this equation for the time being.

Gone. Keeping him here is just an expensive way to prevent Lehtonen from getting big league ice time.

Watching Lehtonen's play at the end of the season made me realize that I was watching the end of Dafoe in Atlanta. Byron's a nice guy and he was once a formidable goalie. Unfortunately, things didn't pan out here. He no place in Atlanta.

Hasn´t he got one more year left on his contract? :dunno:

If so, my guess is they´d buy him out, since there´s no room for him in Atlanta, what with the net full of finns.

He´s a servicable back up on most NHL teams though.

He's done. No more time on that blasted contract.

UFA next year.
