Prims stick raising.

Anyone else think that pose at the end of his shorty was for the Flyers bench to say come follow me?

Teezax 05-17-2004 10:54 AM

Yeah probably, It had a hint of "We are so close boyz, let's finish these guys off"

Coburnfan05 05-17-2004 11:02 AM

I can't wait to use it as my avatar. :)

iceman42 05-17-2004 11:23 AM

I have it on my desktop pic, probably the closest shot to a gladiator that you'll ever see. Gives me chills.

CharlieGirl 05-17-2004 11:39 AM

Can someone post the picture? I didn't get to see the game (stupid afternoon games!)

Prims has gone from the kind of player I hate the most, an underachieving loudmouth to the kind of player I love, a leader who shines during crunch time.

he is "the" man. :yo:

GoneFullHextall 05-17-2004 12:45 PM

it took me a long time for me to start to like the guy. i didnt like him for quite awhile when he first got here, but the last 2 seasons, this season especially how things have changed. He just might be one of my favorite alltime Flyers the way he is leading his team by example. We really are lucky to have a captain like Primeau on our club.

tytech 05-17-2004 02:45 PM

I would still take Brind'amour over him

Gert B Frobe 05-17-2004 02:52 PM

Anyone remember the World Cup in '96? Even though the US won - Primeau was the best player on the ice all tournament long - he looks even better now 8 years later...

brindy isn't close to being equal to preems today. brindy was awesome in philly, but he's not been the same since the trade. today preems can be argued as one of the best shutdown centers in the league. both have been good, but preems is now playing his best hockey and brindy played his best 4 yrs ago.

They are too big for avatars, too small for desktops. I think they fit what we are thinking though. Well, they could be used on a desktop.

jplush76 05-17-2004 03:50 PM

anyone gonna give clarkie some credit for bringin the big guy here? :)

Dar 05-17-2004 04:02 PM

Still can't believe he wasn't named to Team Canada for the World Cup over Doan, Maltby, your very own Gagne and with all due respect to him, Yzerman. :dunno:

the date was january 2000...
we trade perrenial team leader rod brind'amour for "holdout underachiever" keith primeau. much, much rejoicing from me--and nobody else, everybody boohooed because they were sad to see #17 go. He had a bad playoff that year, minus the 5 OT game. The next season, Primeau headed the top line with Rex and Gagne, Primeau was on fire, ended up with like 36 goals, career high, no one cared...could of reached 40 but was taken out on a cheap shot by i think chris phillips

A season later, Primeau was pooped on because of the TEAM effort by the Carolina Hurricanes, which everyone on this board attributed to the guy we traded to them, rod brind'amour--I remember arguing on Keith's behalf, saying Brind'Amour's best years were behind him and that Primeau can still have a great influence on this team.

Keith Primeau is the proof that stats don't always mean everything. Seven goals this season, yet he was still our most important player. I'm glad to say I was behind Keith from his first days as a Flyer

But now, lets talk about the picture. just an amazing picture. Keith by himself, a sea of orange in the background. Everytime he scores a goal he stops so quickly like he knew his shot was going in. every so often there are pictures in sports that just speak for themselves, that is one of them

So true, so true. One of those pics that just speaks volumes where even a non-sports fan knows exactly what they are looking at.

yeah, with Yzerman's horid knees

YotesFan 05-17-2004 11:33 PM

I'm a Phoenix native, and the Yotes are my team, and by looking at your roster you could probably say the same thing :joker:, but my Mom and her whole family are from Philly so they're my other team and I always root for them when there not playing the Dogs, So here's hoping Primeau and company bring home the Cup. :yo:

I saw Primeau's SH goal and the stick rise live, that was one the best hockey moments I've ever seen, well definetly best celebration after a goal.

Primeau is the Man now Dog. :yo:

I had to download the pic and set it has my desktop.

If Primeau were an American I would vote for him for President.

RoDu 05-17-2004 11:42 PM

If we win the cup, Primeau for Conn Smyth, infact, picture this, down the road, in the not so distant future, outside of the Wachovia Center or whatever it will be called then, a bronze statue of ol #25, in that pose

FlyersGuy69 05-18-2004 12:00 AM

with the way the Preems was playing and the money he was making 2 years ago, we couldn't give him away. I think that Hitch has added so much to his game. he is now elite.

This is the second time that Preems has been overlooked for Team Canada, back in 2002, he was overlooked, but when Joe Thornton injured himself, then, they called Keith and asked him if he wanted to join the team. Keith replied saying, if I wasn't good enough to do the training camp, what makes it now that i'm good enough for the team. They just called him because of one of the player being injured... and he kept to his word and didn't showed up. I think that is part of why Gretzky overlooked at him again this time... but like JR said yesterday, this is Bull#$%^ and he's crazy...

jerseydevil 05-18-2004 08:08 AM

Do the shirts they handed out say "Orange Crush"?? If so, isn't that stolen from the 86 Broncos?

Primeau is playing unbelievably well...Go Tampa.
