Ladd to Atlanta

As per Dregger!

Habs514 07-01-2010 03:38 PM

Too bad. I would have liked him in Montreal.

Analyzer 07-01-2010 03:39 PM

I guess Gauthier went deaf from watching the world cup an djust hearing bbbbbbbzzzzzzzzzz

Unless, Atlanta over pays for him.

TheBuriedHab 07-01-2010 03:39 PM

Yea thats the one hawk who I thought we could of had. We do have White comming up though and Boyd could be signed.

overlords 07-01-2010 03:40 PM

This is actually the worst July 1st for habs fans that i can remember.

JackZap 07-01-2010 03:40 PM

so Atl gets Buff-Ladd-Eager

waffledave 07-01-2010 03:45 PM

They are maybe more annoying to play against, but Atlanta doesn't really improve. Who's going to score?

Tortue 07-01-2010 03:46 PM

Ilya Kovalchuk.

Why? Did you guys really expect something...

Analyzer 07-01-2010 03:48 PM

Ivan Vishnevsky and a 2nd for Ladd.

Really? because :

in 2008 our big UFA signing was Laraque on july 3rd

in 2006 we did nothing but re-sign Bouillon

in 2005 we got dandenault

in 2004 Dagenais :yo:

2007 we got Hamrlik and Smolinski and Kosto

last year was nice

waffledave 07-01-2010 03:49 PM

That's huge.

RoyBoyCoy 07-01-2010 03:53 PM

:amazed:

That's a great deal for Chicago. Fleeced Atlanta twice in a row

laraque was a much more interesting signing than auld. Is that really all we did in 2006 and 2005? Why are we such a boring team?

markov` 07-01-2010 04:17 PM

Well, I'm dissapointed. We could have offered something similar. Oh well.

Miller Time 07-01-2010 04:31 PM

darn it...

i would have paid Weber/carle + 2nd for ladd.

that is one pick-up that would have been a great fit for us.

with him and armstrong gone, torres is the next best thing for that 3rd line gritty winger... i hope we are in the running for him (though i'd have preferred both ladd and armstrong to him).

Vasculio 07-01-2010 04:49 PM

Would have loved him in Mtl, and we could of matched that... oh well...

jesus CHRIST almighty what is it with you people??

does everyone suddenly FORGET what happened last year july first when we signed SEVEN PEOPLE??

and now THIs year our goalie needs a contract and we resigned a pending UFA for the FIRST TIME in 5 freaking years that COST us an additional 5 mill to the ALRDY small cap room we had because of the free agency period of last year

AND OF A SUDDEN were sposed to sign kovalchuk, no frolov! no armstrong! no lombardi!

im sick of this! what is wrong with everyone?? WE DONT HAVE THE ROOM!

Dead on. Overpayment-r-us.

Still, seeing the return you have to wonder how we cannot do similar trades.

Blind Gardien 07-01-2010 05:36 PM

Hmm, a lot of people seem to like Vishnevskiy more than I do. Fair enough. I like Ladd more than other people do too, perhaps. I like this deal for Atlanta more than for Chicago. But still, Chicago isn't taking any baths whilst liquidating their cap excesses... they're building up a pretty good stockpile of picks and prospects. Better than many people were predicting they'd do.

I have to think the hockey world likes Vishnevskiy better than Weber. To me, the difference is smaller. Weber and a 2nd in an instant for me, but I understand if the rest of the world likes Vishnevskiy. He moves well. Sometimes too often for me.

Ladd would have been a great fit for us. Oh well.

Vishnevskiy>Weber or Carle right now, takes 2 to tango

Chicago is restocking it's prospect pool so well after a Stanley Cup, geez

felixd 07-01-2010 06:19 PM

Can't believe people think this is a good deal for Chicago.

I live in Dallas and have seen a lot of Vishnevskiy...he's really not that good. Can skate well, but that's it. Doesn't make great decisions, always gets beat 1 on 1. Really not high on him at all, Stars were very disappointed in him this year hence why they shipped him out to Atlanta for Lehtonen.

I guess he could always round into shape, but I have never been impressed.

Good deal for Atlanta. Ladd is the kind of player you win championships with.
