Coming back to Hockey
 
Hey guys,

I've been away for the game for about 5 years. Watching the Olympics this year really inspired me to come back and play for a bit. I am currently 17, about 5'10, 155 pounds and I use a stick with a Sakic curve. I'm going to take some skating/hockey skills lessons in the summer but I'm just wondering what some good off-ice stuff I can do to improve my game (I'm not exactly in tip-top shape right now)?

make sure your legs are strong and start working on the cardio.

Run a lot, It sucks I know, but you'll have to.

Focus on running, and getting som strength into your legs and torso.

Run in intervals, increasing spped and decreasing rest interval time as you go, this improves cardio and can help you build speed.
