New York Rangers Blackberry App
Is anyone else using this on their Blackberry? I have it on my phone and love it... Aside from the official news updates from the organization and the schedule listing, there is a My Feeds sections that allows you to add your own RSS feeds for updates.... I have feeds for Brooks (NY Post), Gross (Record), Cerny, Beyond The Blueshirts (squishy), Prospect Park, as well as several twitter accounts and other associated blogs... It's an extremely convenient way to get updates on Rangers related news on your hand-held device....

Just downloaded the app for my Tour, how do I add the RSS feeds for everyone. Sorry if it's a dumb question, I've just never dealt with RSS feeds before.

Scroll up top over to the My Feeds section and hit the Blackberry key (menu)... Select Configure Tab. Then scroll down and click the option or either Add From Search or Add From URL... I usually add by URL but the search feature is pretty handy too... Type in the URL of what you want to add and then click Add Feed and then Save Changes on the next screen.... Articles will automatically update each time you view the My Feeds tab... Here's a list of the ones I'm using:
You of course can add any RSS feed you'd like, Rangers related or not.... If you or any other poster has any other good feeds to recommend, please share.... |

What about Android? We're destroying Apple!
|
I've had it for 2 years I think. During the season it sends like 1000 of the same messages.if you don't customize it. The only thing I like about it is the NYR icon I can use on my home screen.
|
Doesn't seem to work on the Storm very well.

I had a blackberry storm for about a year and a half and I had this app (one of the rare apps available on the crappy app world). I hated every second of having a blackberry. I got an android and have never been happier with a phone. Too bad there's no Rangers app though...
|
I got the IPHONE 3. Where is this app you speak of?

Nice.

Not sure about the people having trouble with this application, it works flawlessly on my Blackberry 8900
|
i was using it and it updated every second and showed the same articles....needless to say i trashed the BB and got a droid so im hoping for an app like the penguins app for my droid but that rangers app for BB was useless
|
I had this app for the blackberry curve. I just upgraded my phone and now have the Blackberry bold but its saying that this app is not available for my phone. Anyone else have this problem?+
|
I manually added it as a web app to my motorola droid. It comes w the Ranger icon.

this is now out for android users.

Thanks hp.
App kinda sucks. The post game interviews are the only things I can see that aren't readily available from better sources. The NHL Game Center app is much better, IMO. The full version has live streaming games, as well. Pricey, but if you know where to look you can knock a few bucks off... |
I just use NHL Gamecenter.
|
The app itself blows..however the feeds is the good thing. You can add all the the twitter/blog feeds and make a widget on your home screen. Check wolfgaze's post above about this.

my rangers app on my iphone is useless. |
Need to integrate the feeds for it to be a useful app, otherwise it's garbage.
