Evander Kane

What are the expectations for Kane this upcoming season? Also does anyone have any recent articles on Kane or updates on: for example if he's bulking up this summer what he's looking to improve etc, that would be great. :)

Of course he is bulking up.

I expect 25 goals 50 points. Possibly 60 points.

This is probably pretty realistic. I could see him reaching 30 goals possibly, but 25 is the safer bet.

I'll be happy to be wrong, but I'll temper my expectations a bit for a 2nd year player, even if he is a future superstar :)

20 G 25 A 45 Pts.

i agree with this. if he exceeds these #'s, great.

Telfo 08-06-2010 09:47 AM

somewhere between 45-60 points would be great

Juzmo 08-06-2010 10:13 AM

Around 25 goals and 50 points seems realistic.

Plus he knocks out Matt Cooke....again!

Rhodes 81 08-06-2010 11:23 AM

if he plays 2nd line 20 goals, 50 points.
if he plays first line 25 goals, 60 points.

i think 75 wins is more realistic, afterall he is only 19 years old

Does he have franchise possibility?

The good Iginla part 2.

Lux Aurumque* 08-06-2010 03:51 PM

20+ goals, 50+ points.

GCM 08-08-2010 08:32 PM

He should be good for 60 points if he's playing on the first line like I expect him to be.

Kane is a no non sense player who seems to strive to improve every day. I think he is one of the best picks the Thrashers have ever made. It wasn't as clear cut as Kovy and Heatley were back in the day. There were a lot of good players left at 4 with Schenn and OEL. This guy really surprised me last year and should be a lock to be a first liner and an assistant captain for his career in Atl. Now if you guys can just get some more fans in the stands.

More like "now if you guys can start being a competitive team". The fans will follow the wins.

Atlanta is a city with a lot of bandwagoners.

If you win it, they will come. If not, lolemptyseats.

This is true, however, I would think it's hard to build a decent fan-base in any city (south of Toronto, anyway) when it's been constant fail since game #1.

No reports on his training over the summer? Weight?

Probably not realistic as I imagine there isn't much interest in hockey in Atlanta over the summer months, but I thought I'd ask.

Edit: I meant there probably isn't much interest from the media - don't want to insult the die-hard fans!

I think the reason we know about Bogosian's added summer muscle is because he spent a lot of time here working at the team's facility.

I don't think the question is if Kane has added muscle, it will be how much has he added.

You gotta love the kid's game. He's very tough on the puck and he's ridiculously good down low and in the corners and finally, he can skate through defenders when he rushes the ice.

Freight Train Kane.
