at the price of what? Another Coyle or Wrenn or Doherty? Pass on Fedor.

JPavs8Clutchy* 08-08-2010 06:56 PM

Commodore averaged 19:00 minutes per game this year, and was the Jackets 6th defenseman...

1st Rounder...

And you're saying that you'd take Wrenn/Doherty/Coyle over Clowe?

I'm against further pillaging of our farm system, which DW has already done a good job at.

There is more disposable assets then a 2nd liner.

First off, I'm against a Mike Commodore acquisition. The man's no better than Douglas Murray. Not a minute-eater. Not mobile. Not that good at the shutdown role.

Secondly, you'd rather make a lateral move as opposed to one that makes the team better? In reality, moving prospects is based on needs and expectations. There are only a handful of players outside the pro roster that's actually expected to be an impact player for the team in the future. Everyone else is a maybe, could be, or long shot. And how many of those do you really need to have? If a trade is out there that involves acquiring a top four d-man that would fit what we're looking for, I would damn sure pull the trigger if it needed to include a Charlie Coyle and a 1st and the value was right.

allworldcaucasn* 08-08-2010 07:35 PM

lol

If Clowe goes its for KABERLE

I am thoroughly offended by this proposal

SharksAddict 08-08-2010 07:37 PM

I would vomit if DW made this trade. I'm all for moving Clowe for a d-man, but Commodore? No thank you.

jlaw420 08-08-2010 08:16 PM

ugly 1 indeed commodore aint worth a 7th round pick yet clowe. maybe if they threw in filatov or another good young player and a 1st. a guy like commodore aint worth squat 19 minutes 6th damn 3.8 million a yr(worse deal than finger). they could sign mitchell and cost them 2 million and keep clowe. must be a columbus fan. still better than some kaberle offers ive seen, lol

WJG 08-08-2010 09:29 PM

Sharks hang up the phone.

This, and even if we get Tyutin, CBJ would still need to add for Clowe.

Some Sharks fans wouldn't trade Clowe for Kaberle, what makes you think we'd settle for Commodore?

Not to be rude or anything of the sort, but what would you suggest that the Sharks do to address their soft defense? Since in many posts I've seen you're opposed to trading Clowe and breaking up the top 6. Ideas?

Viqsi 08-08-2010 10:08 PM

Clowe is almost redundant on the Jackets - wouldn't mind having him, but we don't particularly need him and therefore have no particular desire to give up assets for him.

That said, offering Commodore is a particularly bad joke that should get someone set on fire. I fully expect him to have a bounceback season, but even if he was putting up career years all this time he isn't nearly enough for a guy like Clowe.

Fail on all counts, really.

Clowe Me 08-08-2010 11:34 PM

Realistically, if the Sharks and jackets made a deal for Commordore, it would more likely involve Huskins and a 2nd.

Doug19 08-08-2010 11:47 PM

Why on earth would we even want Clowe? I'd rather just keep Commodore.

Yes, because Clowe is worth Filatov and a 1st. I guess I should also mention that Commodore is not a 6th defender and he is a decent option on the 2nd pairing minus last year. Commodore's contract is also not worse than Finger's I don't know why you post such stupidity. Also how many Columbus fans do you know that live in California? It's more likely a San Jose fan right because in-case you haven't noticed Columbus fans on here don't ever come on here making proposal threads because of the general ignorance about the players on our team and the needs of our team/market.

allworldcaucasn* 08-08-2010 11:49 PM

You know who could use Clowe?

The Leafs Nation.

JPavs8Clutchy* 08-08-2010 11:53 PM

1st+Prospect or Clowe for Tyutin?

Doug19 08-08-2010 11:55 PM

No, because then we lose our best minute eating PMD. A late first round pick in a top heavy draft will do this team no good. We don't need more prospects.

ThorntonFan19 08-08-2010 11:58 PM

Danny. no. this is getting rediculous.

also

SJfortheCUP. Why trade Clowe for a rental? We tried this with Campbell and it didnt work. We already have Boyle. We are not desprate for him like we were for Campbell.

Get someone who can fill the void for a year, then sign a UFA next year with the money freed up from Huskins/Wallin.

If we keep sending off prospects at our current rate, we won't have any depth in a couple years.
