Tomas Fleischmann

Just wondering what it would cost to get him to the Bruins...and also what position does he play, because i drafted him for my fantasy team and im not sure if he is a center or a wing

Give us a center.

He's a wing who can play center (sorta). And if it were up to many Caps fans, you could have him for a 2nd round pick and be done with it.

We'll take any center on your team, and add a pick to your liking.

He plays both wing and center. He plays better/more comfortable at center but plays like a winger, if that makes sense. If you're looking for a consistent player that won't frustrate even people who like him, look elsewhere.

He will probably see a lot of time at center with that gaping hole up the middle, but would likely retain winger eligibility. If your league counts faceoffs he could be a gem.

It's okay Bergeron is so over-rated it's crazy.

Maybe trade your extra centre in Seguin for Flash;)

So now ive read that he is inconsistent twice, what makes him so frustrating?? I will have to watch more caps games this upcoming season to find out, also do u caps fans think that he was worth that $2.6 million reward that he got from the arbitor?

Fleischmann is probably still learning. He is a bit of a late bloomer. He may be better at center down the road than a fill in. I would not count on that, though.

Fleischmann is frustrating because he is inconsistant. He is streaky. Streaky usually means he goes thru long cold spells. Then a hot spell. Many Caps fans hate Semin for the same reason.

Also, while Caps fans just about hate the guy, Boudreau for sure and possibly McPhee love the guy. He ain't goin anywhere for a 2nd round pick or a salary dump like Ryder.

Great shot, great hands, good skater, and if he had any shred of finishing ability around the net he'd score 30 goals on a consistent basis. As it stands though, he is tremendously soft, easy to knock off the puck for someone with his size, weak defensively, and brings absolutely nothing to the table other than points, which is disappointing considering he does have a very real problem finishing from in close.

His game appears "streaky" because his skillset breeds inconsistency. He's always going to be consistently inconsistent. Boudreau and McPhee are giving him a long leash because they see the good flashes and just think he's going to eventually mature and adjust, or they think that his finishing issue is just bad luck and he'll get over it.

I just hope that they aren't relying on him too much because at this point he is what he is; that's a guy that is a 40-50 point player in the regular season and an unplayable player in the post-season.

Bruins can have him for a draft pick as far as I'm concerned. He's a great fit on a team that needs extra offense to get themselves into the playoffs, but he's useless once you get there.

Drake1588 08-09-2010 08:10 AM

The Bruins' interest here seems to be to dump salary. Bruins fans have been trying to dump salary all summer. The Caps are a poor dumping ground for salary. The Caps aren't in cap trouble, per se, but there is no room either. So, $8.75M in Ryder/Bergeron? Yeah, the Caps can't absorb that unless they're sending equivalent salary the other way.
