Preds shopping Leggy?

The "Buzz" online is that a Northeast team is interested in Legwand. Poile made it pretty clean last spring that he needed to step up his play. Hmm...

Unless Legwand requests a trade, I don't see him going anywhere.

The best rumor I've seen in years :D

In all serious, much to the dismay of many on these boards, I think Poile would trade Legwand if he could. It really handicaps our cash-strapped team to have someone overpaid by about 2 million. Legwand can be serviceable, but he's not worth 4.5m x 4 more years. Also, Lombardi should be comparable or better than Legwand, so there's his replacement. The question is would we do anything decent with the money if we traded Legwand?

TMI 08-20-2010 06:48 PM

Ah yes, let the Legwand hate begin. Or did it ever end? I'm kind of tired of trying to keep track. And the answer is no. We wouldn't do anything decent with the money. Poile would just waste it on another player who is in no way, shape, or form worth it. Circumstances and comparable salaries around the league be damned! /sarcasm

More then a couple of teams would love to have Legwand doing for them what he's been doing for us the past couple of seasons and that's shutting down the other teams top line. He would be missed.

Dulz, I don't think 4.5 is that bad considering the entire package that Leggy brings (i.e., he has a two way game). I consider the Erat contract worse, and if Dumont doesn't bounce back this year, then his past two years would be far worse as well.

1) BS rumor unless Legwand requests a trade then adios. Pure and simple if he goes, slip Goc in at 3rd line center and Wilson is a C not a W.

2) The irony would be Legwand for Fisher. Fisher comes to Nashville to stay with his wife and Legwand goes to Canada where he will realize he should have stayed in Nashville. Nashville slightly gains because Fisher has a better FO% (Thanks Worst)

3) Let me repeat myself: THIS IS A BS RUMOR!!!!!! Legwand's style of play is a match with Nashville.

Underwood is moving to Ottawa, although keeping her home here too. Doesn't matter much, she's leaving for her tour in 3 weeks.

People that read Eklund need to watch his grammar closely. he says what he says very deliberately. All the post said was "a NE take had 'looked at" Legwand. That doesnt mean that they made an offer, or that the preds offered him, or that there was ever even anything more than some doofus daydreaming about legwand.

In this day and age, i'm astounded people still give any credence to, let alone get outright excited about, the stuff Eklund says. I think you're being generous to suggest that he's even connected enough to know if a NE team has "looked at" Legwand.

If you really think about it, what "connected" person within the Predators organization could you imagine speaking covertly to a guy that resembles early 80s Meat Loaf and makes television appearances with a bag on his head. Just try to imagine a scenario where Paul Fenton or even one of the pro scouts would take a call from Eklund. The only scenario I could see something happening would be a subversive attempt by an agent to create a market for a client. It just doesn't add up.

Every once in a while, the sun even shines on Ek.

While I doubt his connections in Nashville, doesn't mean the same for other teams.

We have a backlog of centers, Legwand could thrive in a change of scenery, we could do a lot with his salary space.. etc etc

I don't have any sources, but this one at least makes sense.
