Voynov Injured

In Hammond's latest blog (http://lakingsinsider.com/2010/08/21...etreat-report/)Hextall mentions that Voynov is injured & won't be ready to start the season:
Quote:

Hextall revealed that Vyacheslav Voynov has a shoulder injury and is “not going to be healthy at the start of the year.”
So that should quell the noise about him making the team out of the preseason or going home. I imagine he'll stay awhile to get healthy & play a bit in Manchester - then we'll see.

Another one bites the dust...

So, one of Hickey/Muzzin will likely for sure make the team then im guessing. Other possibilities, although not as likely, are Campbell and Martinez. Fransson will probably make the team, but he's not really a prospect. Now we really, really, need Mitchell.

Pretty sure that is not up to Dean. It's up to Mitchell.

So far the Kings are the only ones who are rumored to have offered a contract.

Jacob Muzzin is secretly injuring all of the Kings defensemens to make it easier for himself to make the team, next up is Johan Fransson.

Screw it. Let's just roll with 5 forwards on the ice at all times to start the season, works for Washington.

Not in the playoffs it doesn't. :sarcasm:

This is going to be a very important camp for Hickey.

Muzzin or Fransson will take it and during the trade deadline Hickey will most likely be dealed in a package for a playoff run.

Didn't he almost make the team in Doughty's first year?

johnjm22 08-21-2010 09:42 PM

Hickey has tons of upside. It's highly unlikely that he's going to be dealt, certainly not for a deadline rental player that's for sure.

Somehow I doubt that Voynov was secretly penciled in and that prevented Lombardi from signing Mitchell. The inability to sign free agents suggests that hockey players are not interested in coming to LA. We're going to have to live with that and just develop a winning culture. Players are always interested in going where the winners are.

Right, but Greene and Voinov will be healthy by then.

CBGB 08-21-2010 11:46 PM

I find it very interesting that this is news to Voynov

I mean, if his shoulder injury is so serious that it will keep him from starting the season... why hasn't he been asked to rehab it?

People get hurt in August too, especially kids trying really hard to bulk up so that they can play in the NHL.

I don't think anyone thinks he has been sitting on his hands....lets remember CT missed Dev camp and will miss training camp because of an injury so this could also be something that happened during the playoffs, he waited till they ended to have work done, and its just about healing now. I mean how long were Hickey/Loki out with there shoulder injuries. Like 4 months right??

Ziggy Stardust 08-22-2010 04:39 AM

Voynov also did not partake in development camp. His shoulder has been bothering him since the playoffs in Manchester.

Johnny Utah 08-22-2010 04:59 AM

Greene out, Voynov out, Teubert out.

Well, it's down to Martinez, Hickey and Muzzin to take the #6 spot next to Greene and probably temporarily Drewiske. I don't see Fransson making it sorry.

We really need a UFA guy now. This is getting ridiculous.

Brad Doty 08-22-2010 05:05 AM

sheesh.

None of our prospects are gonna reach their potential if they keep getting hurt. What the hell are they putting in the water down there?

SuperAlmeida 08-22-2010 05:10 AM

Deslauriers:sarcasm:

I forgot to mention that....then again I don't think neither of the Russians (Voinov/Loki) have taken part in it, and the only reason Kitsyn(sp?) did, was because he was in town.

Players Don't Want To Come to LA?

I'm sure that a lot of players would love to come to LA. Unfortunately Lombardi doesn't give into stupid requests for retirement contracts with outlandish money. Sure I'd like the Kings to have sighed some players this offseason, but isn't it better that opportunities have presented themselves for draft prospects and Monarch players to strive for...
