Best stick for under 100$?

Hey guys
What's the best stick I can get for under 100$? Would an iginla curve be good for snappers/slappers and be decent for stickhandling?

I have an Easton Stealth S5 with an Iginla curve. It's a pretty decent stick at $80, but you really do get what you pay for...

A Bauer x40 is $99.99

Best IMO

I got a CCM OctoGun 50 w/ grip for $95.
Clearance, pro-level stick, but it may not still be around.
If not, the two sticks above work just fine.

The best stick for under 100 is the Bauer x:40. Second best - easton s11

If you use an intermediate stick, Bauer One95 shaft and a decent Easton blade should hover around 100 bucks.

This...but definitely try out several sticks, starting with woods and then moving up to less expensive OPS composites, try Bauer, CCM, etc., several other makers as well.

2nd one95 shaft, i use it with a mission pro stock blade. total setup cost $90 with int shaft, and it performs very well.

I just got this stick. I used it for the first time today. All I can say is WOW! It's very light and I get a good feel for the puck when stick handling. I also have two easton sticks. I prefer the CCM over both of them.

Thanks guys, I got a bauer vapour P92 naslund for 99$ on sale which was just a fricken steal in my opinion(reg price was listed as 200$). The stick weighs like nothing and has a great feel for pucks.

Jarick 08-23-2010 07:44 AM

X:40 seems to be the consensus stick under $100 right now.

AIREAYE 08-23-2010 09:18 AM

Agree with Jarick, if you wnat to buy a retail stick atm and not consider/don't want to search for clearance, then the X:40's the way to go. Especially now, in August most stores have gotten new stock of X:40's where you couldn't hve found when the season was underway

Harv 08-23-2010 11:30 AM

Any pro-return stick you can find on ebay for $100.

Bauer Vapor X40 with the P88 curve

No, they only had senior 85 flex with either Tavares or Lecavalier blade patterns. It may be different where you live though.

Check for 08 closeouts and leftover Dolomites, both are great options. Be careful with pro stocks. Most of the time, you really won't know what you're getting, even if you see it in person.

I had one of those with a Stastny curve. Sick control, crazy shot, but the bottom of the blade started splintering after the second sticks and pucks I took it to.

I just got a 4K for 50 bucks. At least if I shatter this one next time I go out, it's got a warranty so I'm not feeling like I wasted money like I did with the Sherwood.
