if im not mistaken, there are basically no worthwhile forward prospects, at least nothing that can be expected to play in the top 6.

You're wrong, there are literally no forwards at all. :sarcasm:

Surely you jest.

It isn't that there are no prospects. It is that there are no blue chippers. We have 3rd and 4th line potential guys. We also have 4th-6th D guys. Unfortunately those are the spots usually filled very easily through free agency so there is no real need for them being developed in the system.
People shouldn't be surprised we don't have any blue chippers right now. We traded 2 firsts for pronger (3 with Sbisa), JVR graduated and so did Giroux. You aren't going to draft blue chippers in the 3rd round.

Edit- I just noticed that JP is over 1100 years old. College must be a lot harder now than when I went.

Almost as old as chelios.

Yeah, but I think Chelios has played more games since he turned 45 than JP will play in the NHL.

RJ8812* 08-30-2010 05:57 PM

actually those players are just the ones that are signed to AHL contracts

I always laugh at this line, I don't know why. I guess it's the way it's put together... I don't know. I'm done.

Dude, the Phantoms are gonna be STACKED this year.

Also, I like that Testwuide brings a wealth of experience to the lineup. He should make a great mentor to the younger players.

DenverBoone 08-30-2010 08:44 PM

JP was DU's captain.

I should hope so. I also hope he had tenure, he's certainly been around long enough.

I definitely believe we should pick some forward (RW/LW not Center) in the next draft. But we definitely have defensemen and goalies in the system.
