Because it is a charity event I don't think it should be streamed

It'll be a near sellout.

No point in not streaming it.

I guess every one missed this at the bottom of the JM cup article.

"If you’re unable to make it to the game tonight, the game will be webcast LIVE on edmontonoilers.com beginning at 7:00p.m. MT."

MeestaDeteta 09-21-2010 10:34 AM

I liked this from Zach Stortini:

Quote:

...I know what my role is and what I have to do out there and it's something I enjoy doing. It's a great part of the game. It's hard to do it each and every night, but I'm not alone doing it. We have a lot of good guys on the team that are able to carry that load. Jason Strudwick, we brought in Jim Vandermeer, Steve MacIntyre's back - just to name a few guys. I'm there for any teammate. Doesn't matter if they're young or old, small or big, doesn't matter. I'm there for anybody. We're all brothers in here, we're sticking together - doesn't matter who it is.

LOL. I was wondering why even the question. Wasn't sure if there was some other sort of issue like people petitioning against it of what.

Can I get tickets at the door for tonight's game or would buying tickets online be recommended? Will it sell out?

Buy tickets online unless you want to miss the 1st period standing in line.

yeah I'm gonna buy them online after school.

Hopefully it won't be sold out by one. I'd be pretty mad if it were.

Waiting til a few hours before the game would kinda be your on fault.

Bought mine last week.

im super excited for Pitlick through the media comments. size, skates, good vision, wins puck battles down low, will crush guys here and there (as we seen). you cant ask for a better pick at #31.

Nice.

To be fair to some of those questioning it. I looked all the Oiler website last night and could not find anywhere it said it would be streamed on the site. I assume they just added that info this morning.

On a side note. The web team have been doing a good job with these camp article write ups. It is good to see them continuing to develop their coverage.

It's ten bucks and available to everyone.

It does cost money to stream it so that would be one marginal point in favour of not streaming.

However I'm all for the availability of sports online. Frankly after the success of CTV's Olympic coverage online I'm hoping more networks will provide coverage online.

So wait until it is 90% sold out before announcing that its going to be streamed.
Problem solved.

And if it's sold out like it sounds like?

Yeah... but it also drives traffic to the site.

Merchandise, ticket sales, ect.

anyone into trying to get David Clarkson out of NJ?
24 points in 42 games last year (99 hits). kind of big cap hit but the hitting, fighting and offensive knack is nice. yes, yes, i know its unlikely but since the name is brought up its fun to day dream.

Yah! Screw anyone that doesn't live within driving distance! I mean we've got $10 a head to collect people...
