preds that may be dealt by seasons end

Well guys,

come april, we will know if we are a playoff team or not.

So lets just imagine that we are not a playoff team, then which players do you think would be dealt at the deadline??

Any guys on the current roster that you think will be gone come seasons end??

I think Sullivan is dealt possibly if he waives his NTC, same with Dumont, and possibly Bouillon and/or Klein.

Don't hold your breath on that one. Even if we are "out of it" by Feb, I doubt we become sellers. If we do trade someone, I don't think it will be anyone significant (ORLY, Sulzer, etc.)

Pretty much anyone on the last year of a UFA contract

crossxcheck 09-23-2010 04:28 PM

Sullivan certainly comes first to mind. He'll be a UFA at year's end, he is possibly on his last season before considering retirement, and I'm sure he'd like one last run in the playoff's. Now whether or not he gets traded depends obviously on our success and his success, health, and value.

Kinda what I was thinking...
Imagine he went back to the hawks

PredsV82 09-23-2010 05:20 PM

not much to think about... anyone who is a pending UFA would be fair game.

If a glaring problem identifies itself poile might consider dumping non-UFA assets as well but otherwise he will hoard players like always.

If we're out of a play off spot then Weber is gone :sarcasm:

I don't see Sullivan waiving his contract.

yeah pretty sure that's a no and a .......no again just for good measure on that one.

Legionnaire11 09-23-2010 08:40 PM

Lets say the Preds don't have a chance at the playoffs, and the Penguins come asking for Sullivan? would he not consider the chance to play with Crosby and Malkin and make a run at the cup?

It's possible, but honestly I can't see us being THAT far behind the rest of the pack. We'd have to be in dead last (or close to it) to seriously consider it. Even if we probably don't make it, but still have an outside chance, Poile will take that chance and go for it. Playoffs is a must IMO. It's been many years since Poile has been a seller at the deadline.

kakemono 09-23-2010 10:28 PM

What kind of thread is this??? seriously???

lets be more pessimistic

kivaerijo 09-23-2010 11:24 PM

Franson or fake Franson...Please!

predfan24 09-24-2010 12:22 AM

If Sully was traded at the deadline ( Very unlikely due to us likely being in the thick of the race) he would come back to Nashville after the season was done either retired or to play for the Preds again. This is his family's home now.

It could happen, Obama's done it :sarcasm:

but really i could see Sully waiving it for that type of chance but i bet hed still come back to nashville to live at the end of the season.

PS: who all thinks this is Sully's last year? I think if Guerin's still trying to play i could see Sully with at least one more season maybe, maybe 2 more depending on his back/health. id like to seee him stick around for a little longer or atleast do something similar to Gelinas, work for the preds, except the whole stint in europe thing of course.
