Denis Grebeshkov

Is Grebs still an RFA for us? Has he signed with another team? I've heard nothing about him. I really liked him in his time for us, and im hoping we can at least get something in return for him.

He signed a 2 year contract in the KHL

Technically, though, we could still retain his NHL rights if he signed elsewhere, but we opted not to extend a QO to him, so he's no longer our property in any way, shape, or form.

Thanks! Just wasnt sure how that turned out.

ZombPred 09-28-2010 07:50 PM

Stupid move in my opinion in wasting a 2nd round pick on him. Y'all saw how badly Poile wanted a 2nd in this years draft. Oh well tho.

dulzhok 09-28-2010 07:57 PM

Impossible to anticipate the groin injury, but easier to anticipate not getting a qualifying offer.

ZombPred 09-28-2010 08:13 PM

I honestly don't think the groin injury had anything to do with it. He was healthy come playoffs.

kivaerijo 09-29-2010 02:14 AM

if it wasnt the groin, what do you think it was?

ThirdManIn 09-29-2010 06:04 AM

I honestly think Poile saved the money that could have gone to Grebs in case he needed to sign both a vet blueliner and a vet back up. Purely speculation though.

The guy was a liability on defense. The Preds should be happy hes gone.

He was also very good offensively, which is where\why we needed him. I would have happily taken him back.

Kiraly..what on earth are you talking about? He was hit in the marbles with a puck, and came back ahead of schedule and made an immediate impact. If not for the injury, that's an easy trade to make.

jlsg 09-29-2010 10:39 AM

I would have taken him back for about half of his salary, that was the only real issue. He wasn't worth 3 mil.
