We're not in CAR, silly.

barrytrotzsneck 09-29-2010 12:00 PM

per @BenThrashers, Pekka Rinne is not playing tonight. Goalies will be Dekanich and Lindback. WINNER TAKE ALL.

Diet + hard exercise = low blood sugar for thinking.

Seth Lake 09-29-2010 12:06 PM

NHLPredsinsider tweets that Lindback will get the start tonight and Trotz says that he has a slight edge on Dekanich for the backup spot right now.

I tend to agree, but at the same time could this be posturing by Trotz to give Dex a kick in the rear and challenge him to step it up these final few days?

Well, then, I suggest that the posters on these boards do the GDT's before I get a chance to do them. ;)

utmfisher19 09-29-2010 02:27 PM

Take parent, tootoo, and rinne out of the lineup -- they didn't make the trip

Smithson is out too.

Corrected.

PredsChik 09-29-2010 03:17 PM

Has there been any update about Smithson after the Byfugly hit? As of the post game interviews, Trotz didn't know where he was in the arena and didn't have an update.

anyone think that parent is sitting to give sulzer and franson a chance to claim the 6th spot head to head?

Smithson participated in the full practice yesterday and didn't leave the bench Monday night (in fact coming out at the end to congratulate Pekka with stick in hand and appearing in good spirits).

If the trainers don't approach Trotz to give him an update, he commonly doesn't know the status of an injured player. If Smithson was not injured or was being evaluated after the game, Trotz is not going to know his status 5 minutes post-game.

Personally, I think he just got the wind knocked out of him. In this case, no news is good news...

I think that the only person Sulzer is competing with is Johnson, and it's for the seventh spot, not sixth.

Agreed, although I think Johnson might be competing with Franson for the No. 6 spot on opening night...

It's hard to imagine that. I think Johnson's going to end up in Milwaukee assuming he'll clear waivers.

Shea Weber said the same thing after the game, that he thought Smitty was fine and just had the wind knocked out of him. Also on the hit itself Weber said he thought it was a bit high, but seemed to feel it wasn't out of line otherwise.

OpenWheel 09-29-2010 05:14 PM

I hope Andersson gets some significant pt. I'd like to see him replace Ward for a night to see how that goes.

Still not a big fan of those line combos. I guess Wilson and Erat can pass the puck a lot to each other. Maybe Lombardi will shoot. Goc, I don't feel he's the right guy for Hornqvist either. I actually wish Wilson was center there. I hope I'm totally wrong, and Trotz actually hits on some scoring lines this year.

Seth Lake 09-29-2010 05:24 PM

Bouillon, Parent, and Lundmark (groin) are the other scratches for tonight. Looks like Sulzer vs. Johnson will be the main battle tonight back on D, while Dekanich and Lindback battle it out in the crease. Without Lundmark in the lineup, O'Reilly looks to only have Andersson actively competing with him for the 13th forward spot...

Paranoid Android 09-29-2010 06:54 PM

Does that mean we see a Klein-Franson pairing tonight? :help:

trailerparkin 09-29-2010 08:13 PM

does anyone know of a stream of the game?

The Preds feed is being wonky, so I'd suggest the Atlanta feed that should be available at:

McDonaughGirardi 09-29-2010 08:25 PM

I'm getting frustrated with 102.9's game-time coverage to say the least. I hope they are just working out the kinks. I've missed a 1/3 of the game because their feed keeps going out. I've got XM radio, so I can listen to the Atlanta broadcast, but would rather listen to our guys.
