20 bold predictions for the 2010-11 NHL season

3. The Rangers will make the playoffs this year.

"New York Rangers: It seems Rangers fans are a bit divided on whether the final round of cuts was a good or bad thing. Witness consecutive posts on Blueshirt Banter extolling how horrible the decisions were, and then praising them for their judiciousness. (You can also consider this part to be my undying and bottomless lament for underestimating the Dolans' desire to waste money by sending Wade Redden(notes) to the AHL, so you morons can feel free to stop chirping me. Get over it.)"

10. Ryan Miller(notes) plays a one-man show in Buffalo for 70-something games and the Sabres still miss the playoffs.
This one is dumb, if Miller "plays a one-man show" in Buffalo this season the Sabres are a lock for the playoffs. Their team is good enough to ride their goalie in, they did it last year.

Yup. I don't see them out of a spot if Miller stays true-to-form.

But more to the point, how is this a bold prediction? Most of them weren't bold predictions. We missed the post season by 1 pt. The East is so tight its not much of a shocker unless NJ, Was or Pit miss out.

Typical Canadian and NHL-hack bias. Price will be good this year? Really? Of course he has to go out of his way to rip us up for Redden but no mention of Souray. Typical.

Puck Daddy is a great blog. Ryan Lambert is not a great blogger, however. He's the weak link in their chain. Kind of annoying and not particularly insightful. Most of these predictions are hardly bold, and many are downright stupid.

Puck Daddy is meh , however the daily Puck headlines link to alot of great reads.

The Sabres are a deep offensive team with a solid but unspectacular group of D (Myers excluded because he is a STUD) with a stellar goaltender (USA!). The Sabres SHOULD win that division because Boston, Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto are simply not as good -- but aren't that far behind.

If the Sabres don't win that division Boston will imo, assuming Rask wasn't a fluke and their D holds up (again outside of Chara they are pretty pedestrian imo)

Seriously. We're the morons for calling him out about Redden, when it was a pretty well known fact this is the move the organization was going to make?

We've only known this since last April.

But we're the morons. Guy sounds like a tool.

It's just the usual anti-Ranger bias. Obviously has an axe to grind with the fanbase, his entire write up on the team was focused on the fans instead of the team. His only actual team based comment pertained to Redden and the last players cut... way to go.

Lambert if awful. If he took the time, he would realize that there were not dueling opinions on Blueshirt Banter. One was a fanpost and the other was written by a blogger on the site.

The dumbest thing he said in that article is Taylor Hall winning the Calder, the kid is possibly the third best rookie on his own team.
