NYRCC 10-05-2010 11:30 AM

we just had this down at the q in cleveland...

i didn't catch the show but the stage set up is absolutely insane.

HockeyBasedNYC 10-05-2010 11:32 AM

Gonna see it in Izod.

I told my friend to buy tickets specifically in MSG and he got them there instead.

nyr5186 10-05-2010 11:43 AM

Saw him at Jones Beach a few years ago, and I've gotta say it was kinda meh.

The light show and theatrical setup is pretty amazing, but don't expect to be blown away musically. Roger can no longer sing, and he was never that great of a bassist to begin with.

I was much more impressed by Gilmour's show when he toured 4 or 5 years ago. Seeing him (with Rick Wright on keys) at Radio City was and still is one of the musical highlights of my life.

That being said, you're definitely gonna have an amazing time at MSG.

haha yeah I saw The Dark Side of The Moon tour in 06 at MSG, and 07 at Izod... much better at MSG, but you'll still have a sick time.

We paid $160 a seat for the front of section 341, which is pretty much the most I'd ever pay for a show unless they dig up Morrison.

God this work day needs to end!!

Bluenote13 10-05-2010 11:48 AM

I keep hearing nothing but great things about this tour, wish I was there :D

Anyone have an extra??:help:

Gilmore has stated he will sit in at one show. The rumors have been either MSG or O2. My $$$ is on London but we can dream

The most I've actually paid to see a show was $300 a seat to see Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes front and center in Philly. It was worth every penny.

Yeah I doubt it would be this show if it was MSG, possibly in November, but yeah... London would be the logical choice.

Never has there been a more clear example of the whole being greater than the parts

Waters = great

Gilmore = great

Gilmore singing Waters lyrics = Divine touched by god kind of vibes.

Would have loved to have seen that...

Amazing show. Just saw him in TO few weeks ago. Beg borrow or steal a ticket or you may regret it for the rest of your life!

In The Flesh 10-05-2010 12:35 PM

Saw the 1st and 2nd shows in Chicago two weeks ago, it was amazing.

I will say his 2007 Dark Side tour was a bit better imo. He played more songs. THe Wall tour has a ton more "stuff" though, you'll see.

pwoz 10-05-2010 12:42 PM

I was just at the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame last month.. The Wall was only performed 29 times.. then they broke up.

Poozer 10-05-2010 01:34 PM

Saw him two nights ago in Boston, was an awesome show, totally amazing.

Will not be seeing this show.

The last time I saw Roger at MSG was when Pink Floyd was touring "Animals" in '77.

Roger was strumming an acoustic section alone on stage when some knuckle head in the audience tossed an M-80 at him. I watched it sail over his head and explode behind him against the stage curtain.

The Waters temper is legendary and it was on full righteous display for a few minutes. The poor guy had the crap scared out of him. Some guy in the audience got the **** knocked out of him as the house lights went up.

Eventually the band came back and finished the set. Animals is still some of Water's best music with the Floyd imo.

Hopefully Gilmore and Mason join him for a show or two on this tour. That would be nice to see.

NYR Sting 10-05-2010 01:44 PM

I wish. Enjoy the show folks.

KreiMeARiver* 10-05-2010 02:29 PM

I'm gonna film it with my Galaxy S and put vids up on youtube. Will post links, tomorrow.

Riche16 10-05-2010 02:37 PM

I'm going to the show in Ft. Lauterdale in Nov.

Interested to hear how the shows are.

Great article in Rolling Stone with Waters on the cover (great shot with a brick wall behind him... sounds pedestrian but it's actually a cool shot).

BlueshirtBlitz 10-05-2010 04:59 PM

Going to see him in Long Island this month at Nassau. Couldn't get MSG tickets in time.

Blazephr 10-05-2010 05:09 PM

I'll be at the Montreal show on the 19th @ The Bell Center.

Ail 10-05-2010 07:28 PM

I've heard it's a fairly spectacular display of imagery. Sorry I am missing out on this one. Have fun. :yo:

That space cadet glow

pld459666 10-06-2010 12:26 PM

Bought tickets to a Pink Floyd show back in the late 80's (Momentary Lapse of Reason tour) the day of the concert.

center, 17 rows from the stage...face value :)

Saw them again years later around 95 or 96 in Yankee Stadium - Free

Both were equally awesome
